Victorian (British IRL) Empire Management

Ok, so the speed of info/travel is a real thing in this universe and some guy on youtube equates this a little to victorian england in terms of the way things would have to be managed... I'm curious if there's any historical analog that you guys use / think of when you think of this game and whether or not there are any resources you could point me to in that regard.
Do you mean like the Pony Express? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pony_Express or http://wiki.travellerrpg.com/Poni Or do you mean all of human history until Samuel Morse. Messages had to be physically transported from place to place with only a few exceptions such as by drum, flags or mirrors. I haven't seen the video but Victoria England had telegraphs but someone still had to carry the message on paper to the recipient.

10 days coast to coast is pretty quick. :) But yeah, good stuff and quite an accomplishment.
To bad for them that the transcontinental railroad was finished three years after they went out of business.
