Dynasty Warriors for 5e

I’ve been kicking around the idea of a D&D 5e campaign based off one of my favorite cheesy video game series: Dynasty Warriors.  Set during the Three Kingdoms era of Chinese history, the campaign would include some fantasy elements like magic, and wouldn’t necessarily follow the exact history, depending on the player’s choices.  I would likely incorporate elements from the Heroes of the Orient, to help give the wuxia flavor. Is there community interest in such a game?  I’d like to gauge people’s responses and tweaks they might have before preparing this game.  Thanks, everyone!
hmm not played 3 kingdoms in ages. i'm intrested.

Hey Jake, I actually have a campaign running right now based off of that, but because I am relatively new to the game (started in July last year) and less so in DM. I was very hesitant about making it known outside of my irl friends (only 1 person!). I feel a little bit more comfortable now that I added a lot of myth and fabled as well as other Asian inspired stories I've come across. But a little caveat, I am still relatively new to the game so I might not know how to dial back or have an uninterested session if you don't mind me stumbling a lot and are interested in an epic historical campaign. Gimme a PM. I am looking for a lasting group that I can tell this great story.  Best, KC

I'm also thinking about how to mimic the Musou system from the video games, into a tabletop version.  Early concept is this: whenever you roll a natural 20 (attack, saving throw, ability check), you gain one rank of Musou.  You can have a number of Musou ranks equal to your proficiency bonus.  As a reaction, you may spend any number of accumulated ranks of Musou, and for each spent rank you make two weapon attacks.  (For example, at 5th level, your proficiency bonus is 3.  If you accumulate all three ranks of Musou and spend them all as a single reaction, you may make six weapon attacks.) Now, this may seem overpowered af, but the way I run combat can be deadly and this system would allow players an edge.  Additionally, I think it mimics the excessive number of attacks you can do in Dynasty Warriors when your Musou is full.
I'm not sure if there is a community interest in Dynasty Warriors in a d&d set up but it sure has my interest.
Wish I had seen this earlier but yea +1 for interest
Make it +2..! .. If you're still up to this.
I played the heck out of Dynasty Warriors 2 and still have my lame PS2. Also a massive wuxia fan, so I'm interested but not sure I'd have the time, sadly. I am curious how you would let musou work for spellcasters.
