[Ad&d 1st edition] Sheet Request - THAC0/To Hit Maximums

I just happened to look at the guts of it and noticed that the maximums for the To Hit rolls were are set to 20. However, using the M-U table from the DMG we have a more comprehensive list of maximums. Should I make a PR of the sheet with the changes?

Do you mean you're considering to apply these improvement to the existing sheet, or making a PR for a new sheet with these differences? The former is likely a good idea, the latter wouldn't get approved. Would your changes affect the current use of the sheet in any negative way for the current users?

I'm not sure I follow...  The sheet uses a To-Hit table which you can enter any value vs AC according to the To-Hit table from the DMG, or you can use THAC0, which will adjust the table automatically based on your THAC0. I WISH I COULD INSERT AN IMAGE HERE, BUT THE FORUM EDITOR SEEMS TO BE BROKEN... ;-(
I was just gonna do a PR against the existing sheet. No way am I going to try to replicate this :-) I'm referencing the following section: < tr class = " sheet-to-hit " > < tr class = " sheet-to-hit-input " > < td >< input type = " text " name = " attr_THAC0-10 " title = " @{THAC0-10} " value = " [[@{THAC00}+10]] " min = " 2 " max = " 20 " disabled /></ td > < td >< input type = " text " name = " attr_THAC0-9 " title = " @{THAC0-9} " value = " [[@{THAC00}+9]] " min = " 2 " max = " 20 " disabled /></ td > < td >< input type = " text " name = " attr_THAC0-8 " title = " @{THAC0-8} " value = " [[@{THAC00}+8]] " min = " 2 " max = " 20 " disabled /></ td >
Damn, editor... I don't think it would affect current usage. I would be changing the maximum attribute to what the maximum could be by armor class. For example the maximum To Hit needed for AC -10 is 29 and the maximum for AC 10 is 11 as opposed to a blanket 20. I would be using table I.C., the column for 1-5 level M-U, from the DMG, page 74.

If you are concerned about the min max attributes on those inputs, I don't believe they really matter since the input attributes are type="text".  min max should only be used with type="number".  So you can enter any amount for THAC0 and the rest of the table's attributes will adjust without regard to min/max.  Are you seeing something different?  Removing min max would be fine since they do not actually affect the sheet. Background; THAC0 was added to the sheet replacing the included To-Hit tables without any discussion with the community or myself (the active sheet author, at least at that time...)  Normally it's common courtesy to communicate before modifying an existing sheet.  Much as you are doing in this thread.  Thank you BTW. ;-)  Many people like to use THAC0 in their 1e games although it's my understanding it was actually introduced "officially" at a later date.  I've left both the To Hit table as well as THAC0 so that users can choose which they would like to use.  I try to keep the sheet as true to 1e RAW as possible or at least allow variations to be optional.  Anyhow, I don't believe the combat tables listed on p74 actually follow THAC0's scalable progression, right?  I might be wrong, but the tables seem to be some crazy "Gygaxian" creation, which is partly why THAC0 became so important later on.
Vince, if the "max value" doesn't matter for input than I withdraw my request. Yeah, there is a block of 6 20's once it gets there and then progresses past that.
