Hanafuda, Kabufuda, lots of games.

Hey guys, a few months ago I put together some games for my friends and I to play. I packaged all the files and uploaded them so that other people can enjoy them as well. The "japanese games" set includes a hanafuda deck, a kabufuda deck, tiles for riichi mahjong, tokens and boards for shogi and go. The "classic games" set includes checkers, chess, chinese checkers, mancala, backgammon... and I think that's it. Most of the assets were made by me and a few are open source/free from the net. Feel free to use, share, etc. These are just the files so you'll have to set up the games, I'd be happy to answer any questions anyone has on the best way to do that. http://www.mediafire.com/download/plpcizt0ahn9kex/... http://www.mediafire.com/download/2x9bei9csgqf6s2/...
http://puu.sh/7vl9O.jpg So for shogi I set it up like this, the board is aligned with the transparent grid and the tokens lock to it. I set up the pieces on the side so when you capture you can place it aside and replace with your own piece- thus keeping them all 'upright' but still facing the right way. You could also use the light pieces and rotate them. To indicate upgraded pieces, just use the token markers, and put a dot or something. That's the best way I could think of, but you could also make 'upgraded' versions and make them cards and flip them. That seemed more complicated to me, and I liked them snapping to the grid. Now with go you need so many pieces I decided to use a deck for each colour, but I also lined the board to the grid in the same way and tried it with tokens. Either way works, but the tokens are a little more work. http://puu.sh/7vlm2.jpg http://puu.sh/7vlrH.jpg This is the map we used for 'koi koi.' The board is to make scoring a little simpler and keep things organised, the middle months and the bead are to keep the rounds straight. You could easily use the cards for any games. I included a second deck for beginners which I made to teach my friend. http://puu.sh/7vlyX.jpg I made a board for oicho kabu, and some 'yen' coins for betting. Again, these could be used for whichever game you like, the board is optional.
http://puu.sh/7vlOS.jpg Chinese checkers was probably the hardest to set up, because I really wanted the marbles to lock to the spaces. Hopefully it's not too hard to recreate using these settings...

Hmmm, I haven't played shogi in almost 20 years. Nobody I know plays it. You could use a table for the pieces to flip them when they are promoted. Interesting solution to the flipping them option. Unfortunately, in Roll20 there is no good way for the view to be oriented properly for both sides (ie: you are looking at your side of the board from your point of view).

Oh yea a table might work. I haven't really played with those, I'll take a look. Either way I don't have anyone to play with and can't even beat the computer on my phone app soooo... Mostly I made it for fun. https://app.roll20.net/join/349825/0c3p-w If you want to play you can use this copy of the campaign. I can make you a gm too so you can try all of the games, they're in one campaign as different maps.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/ds9yb6abv4ecnac/... I uploaded a rar of some generic 'tokens,' in case anyone could use em. They're things like checkers, marbles, etc. Some were used in the games sets but some weren't, so anyone who might want to play a game with some generic markers to indicate stuff might like these.

Something else you may want to do is to make a "where you can move" diagram for the Shogi pieces. If you want to play a game sometime send me a PM. Not having played in 20 years you might even beat me. :)
