I feel like I am missing something super basic. How do I add custom content to my compendium? Items, equipment, classes, subclasses, races, etc? I can create monsters as NPCs all day, fine. But what of the other components of the game?

Well, that means no money from me... If thats the case then I can only use it as a partially functional map tool and dice roller. I would LOVE to fully utilize roll20, but can't if it is missing this feature. Ill keep using Maptool, which is free and has all of the features you have to pay for here.
