Moved to the API forum. Could you explain what you are trying to accomplish? If you explain what kind of script you need written someone could probably help you.

We have an ongoing need unlike other projects. Our game project has a need for someone who can do multiple scripts to create something on Roll20 that A) It cannot currently do and/or B) Specialized Uses. We can bring a large player based to Roll20 with our project. Unfortunately, Roll20's current capabilities come very close to our targeted goals, but requires some special needs to really make our game come alive. We currently have: 2D Artists 3D Artists Web Developer Game Creators Game Balance Chief Roll20 API Developer

I will be honest with you James you would be better off Just taking Gauss' advice and just posting what you want done with as much detail as you can then someone here may decide to come and help you out or they may not. From what I have seen you post so far its likely a some of the stuff you want done is just plain infeasible, I dont know about anyone else but i wouldn't dream of getting involved in any long term projects without a better expectation of what i would be getting into.

Fair enough, We are transporting a MOBA game League of Legends to a turn based tabletop game. Riot (Owners of the league of Legends IP) has given fans permission to use game and art assets as long as there is no monetary gain from the project. We agree . It should be a fan based open and free game. Besides, the more players..the better! It also would not hurt Roll20.net to get more subscribers / free players from such a massive community such as the one League of Legends has built. Such an injection of players and interest can make their presence on Twitch.TV and other sources better known. We have been working on the table top game for 1 year so far, when we stumbled across virtual tabletop style systems. Countless hours of extracting, modeling (2D and 3D), rule setting, prototyping went into this so far. The thought of letting people play free without downloading and printing a ton of papercraft and materials appealed to us. However, being new to the Roll20 system and not having a Java script editor / creator makes life hard. We are looking for community members that have a passion for the game and are looking to better the community as a whole. Here are some things Roll20 does NOT currently provide that we want to add to this game: (To answer your question) Fog of War that adjusts like dynamic lighting (Fog of War in StarCraft II and LoL style is preferred) Two Teams (Player Vs. Player) with two different visions (i.e. Team 1 can only see other team 1 members and their LOS) Bushes FoW (Meaning if a team member is in a bush, they can see out, but opposing team cannot see into the bush when not standing in it also) Custom GUI and macros for in game abilities Special effects for each ability (Like the flame effect, etc) Turn Locking (Players may ONLY move pieces when it's their turn) Sorry, trust system does not work so good for what we are doing. ;) Walls and objects that are impassable (You cannot move through restricted spaces) Now that I've listed things that would make the game more exciting and strategic, I hope I did not scare anyone away. ;) We believe our enhancements can make other games better as well!

1. Can't be done currently. 2. Could be done with API scripting and two mirror images of the maps. One team on each map. 3. Could be done in conjunction with the above API script. 4. Can't be done currently. 5. Can't be done currently... but as the FX tool shows... it may be something possible in the future. 6. Could be done with API scripting. 7. Could be done with API scripting. I believe numbers six and seven have already been done and something sorta like number two was done by Riley. Check the Roll20App Twitch videos.

Check the Roll20App Twitch videos. I've done #7 (I haven't covered the limitations in my initial version, but those limitations are not big issues if the walls aren't rotating/resizing, and you don't need/want to use ovals/freehand as walls. And your players don't hold down an arrow key to move at warp speed.) Collision Detection script

Number 4 looks like two seperate points, if by macros for ablities you mean something like HB's power cards or my combat automation then thats perfectly posible. As for GUI HB is correct for the most part, it is posible to create GUIs but it requires client side modifications and there would be very little point in going to the trouble of maintaining what is basicaly a hack for such a small player base.

Possible temporary solution. <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcWhyJsmm1A" rel="nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcWhyJsmm1A</a> This uses the layering system already inside Roll20. A tile to match the board is used and layered forward. Then, it is set to be controlled by NO PLAYER. The result in game is as shows in the video above. Problems: When opposing player enters the bushes they still cannot see each other. Without collision detection in place tokens could be right on top of each other and not know it. A forgetful player may forget where or which bush his/her token is under. Making the turn process difficult.
