[LFG][5E] West Marches Style Group Looking for More Players!

Edited 1551736881
Greetings to all! I look forward to receiving applications for my D&D 5E Game! I will start out by talking about myself and the game a little bit. I am fairly new to DMing, with around 6 months of experience. My playstyle is story driven, roleplay heavy, with complex and challenging combat encounters. I love to engage and talk with my player group about the game, as well as about life in general. I think D&D is a great game and a excellent way to make friends and have a good time. My games are fairly casual, there is joking around, making up rules on the fly, we dont take things too seriously. On the flip side, certain things are important. Roleplay is an important part of the game, so that plays a major part in my playstyle. That doesnt mean i expect every player to have a character voice or even talk in character, it means players should act as their character should act. Not share information with other players that they wouldnt know, dont tell them what spells to cast(unless they ask for your opinion obviously), just avoid meta gaming. I know some people don't mind it, but I am unfortunately not one of those people.  I am also staunchly anti pvp, so if your character has a conflict with another character, they need to work it out. They are a team after all, and shouldn't ever feel that they need to use such drastic measures. Basically, be thoughtful of other players, and respectful of their wishes.  Strong dislikes for me include murder hobos, meta gamers, control freaks, rule nazis, and people who get way off the quest line. To further explain that last one, there is the main quest, and there are side quests. Then there is random stuff you wanna do. I dont care if you wanna go shopping, or try to find a way to make some money. Dont create your own quest in my world.  As for the Game itself! This will be a game in the strain of the West Marches. The purpose of this game group is to create a place for people with busy schedules to find time to fit in some D&D. This will be all one shot sessions, with a goal of usually around 2 hours long(though it could potentially go longer). Basically, I will work on a one shot in my free time. When i have one ready, I will post a message in the discord, with a date and time that fits into my ever-changing schedule, usually 5-7 days before the session. Players will then have an opportunity to reserve a place in the game, provided it fits into their schedule. Most of my games will be hosted on weekday mornings(US CST), but there might be some random week nights or week ends. Additionally, I would love to let any other DMs or people who want to try their hand at DMing into the fray! If you want to host a one shot in this group, I would totally support that(after a brief interview/vetting process). The more DMs we have, the more opportunities we have to play.  I do want to add, it is an LGBT+ Friendly place, and we avoid politics, as well as statements or jokes that border on racism, sexism, or stereotypes of that nature. I am also very welcoming to beginners! We are all learning here, and I am patient and willing to play with some newbs. Important thing to note, I am prone to try some experimental things in these games, but it wont be obscenely unbalanced.  If you have read all that and you are interested in joining up, send me a private message with your application!
