So how do you get a suggestion "officially" noticed these days?
Theres a lot of really good suggestions. I would imagine it's really hard to keep spouting out the same answer in response, but I would bet a whole paycheck that the devs read the forums everyday, probably every couple hours. It's one of the reasons I became as supporter. If I really wanted to push a suggestion I would become a Mentor level supporter, use the Mentor forum to communicate more directly with the devs, and be really polite. And get a bunch of other people to become Mentor supporters and have them singing the same song.
Pretty much this. We read a lot of the stuff on the forums, but we're more likely to have an active discussion about things that are in active development, which is basically what's on the Dev server and in the Mentor forums. So we certainly read everything (like this thread), and file it away to give us a general idea of what the community wants, but in terms of what are we going to really jump in and see rapid movement on? Mostly the stuff that we're already actively developing. One way to think of it: we have a to-do list at this point literally a mile long, full of stuff like this that people want. We can only actively work on a small portion of that at once. So rather than just running around all the time trying to discuss a wide array of things, we try and force ourselves to stay focused on the "next thing"...otherwise we'd never get anything done. That "next thing" is always what's on Dev and what we're talking about and gathering feedback on with Mentors. That said, there's some zoom improvements that went out in today's update, and we're working on the Dev server right now on some new zoom tools (although a "marquee" tool isn't one of them right now).
