Hello, This Call of Cthulu light game has been a favorite of mine for a while and I've been itching to run games with a combination of some of my current group and newer players (4 – 7 players). This bi-weekly game will have adult themes, gore, and scenes of violence where the ante is upped from the traditional hero-type RPG. There will be cursing, devilry and discussions of things that may rub the PC inclined the wrong way. You have been warned. This series is my attempt to build on a larger storyline that I've been working on in my other games (Heroes Unl., RIFTS, PFRPG, etc.) and I will be recording it for a possible podcast release. The theme will be dark and full of terrors and, while I do enjoy Lovecraftian works, the setting will not be a period piece; the year is 2019 and the world is our own…here's the story thus far: It's a day like any other when, in an instant, the sky turns black and starless; not even the moon is visible to the parts of the world that can see it. Reports of monsters abound as the population struggles to make sense of what is happening. Civil unrest and riots spiral out of control with governments struggling to maintain some semblance of order, all while also trying to uncover the origins of this global phenomenon. Is it an attack? Aliens? The worst parts of the Bible? Questions without answers. The world sinks into a panic as religious scholars, and zealots alike believe this to be the End of Days while the scientific community works furiously to explain what’s going on. This is where your group comes in. Brought together by mutual interests (I’ll let you decide what those are beforehand) the events taking place are also affecting those with psychic abilities where the serene Astral Plane is roiling, and disturbances are reaching out to even the least psychically sensitive. You exist in a world where there are people who exhibit abilities far beyond those of normal men and societies struggle to accept these Metahumans; and, these new and frightening occurrences are only pushing everyone closer to the edges of sanity. So, how will you respond? Will you take the lead and figure out how you can help lead humanity through the darkness and back into the light? Or will you stand by while the world is plunged into chaos? Game Notes: This is a Beyond the Supernatural 2nd Edition game. No other books will be allowed. There will also be no Arcanist Mages allowed so do NOT ask. If there’s interest please let me know and bring your character ideas. I look forward to getting this underway.
