Account inaccessible but definitely exists

I'm posting this here because there is information in the site infrastructure which is contradicting itself, but not in the simulated table top engine. I attempted to log on to my old account today to give a friend a tutorial on Roll 20 for a game he wants to run. Upon seeing my information was no longer auto-entered to the username and password sections I input it manually. No dice. Another password? No? Alternative emails, that must be what I did.... And still nothing. "Forgot my password," then, I'll just have it send me an email using whichever one it likes. None of them registered. Fine, I thought, I'll figure it out later and just make a new account for now to give him the tutorial. Put in what should  have been my information to begin with. That account already exists. Uhhh. I go back and try to log in one last time. Account doesn't exist. I try one last time to use "forgot password" and now it just logs me in the account I was told didn't get made because that email was already in use. I'm really confused here. That old account isn't super  important to me, is really just a few achievements, but I do want to know what's going on and get back into it if possible.
For a note: this account is the one that was made just today while attempting to get into my old account.
