This is a game that has been running for about six sessions that I a moving to an online format to make things easier for some of my players. With that, I am open to adding a few new players as well. I anticipate playing during the week sometime, Tues, Wed, or Thurs. With a start time of like around 7-8pm EST. The current party consists of Bastion – Warforged Barbarian Dryden – Half-Elf Cleric Malevir – Tiefling Sorcerer Zradaar Iphul – Dragonborn Rogue Brief Summary of the story so far: The party teamed with an aged adventurer and tracked down a warlord long thought to be dead (think this world’s Ganondorf, NightKing, Voldermort..etc). They found he was living a peaceful life and had started a family. They convinced him to turn himself in and face a trial. A cult that worshipped the villain “rescued” him, despite his protests. The cult then unleashed an energy that seemed to enhance all living magic users, but often left them marked in the process. Some of these magic users found themselves to be more powerful, while others gained new abilities entirely. Now, if one magic user slays another, sometimes they are able to absorb these enhancements. (Think Highlander) It was learned the cultists were using weapons called “spell thieves” and are able to steal people’s magical essence, typically killing them in the process. What they are doing with this collected energy is a mystery, but it is speculated that they want to restore their leader to his former power, even if he doesn’t want it. The city where the party found the Elf was completely wiped from existence. No one knows how, it simply disappeared. The group helped refugees from the missing city make their way towards the nearby metropolis of Black Shell. During their journey the group found a dying King with a request to escort his daughter to a distant orc tribe, where he claims she would be safe. The King had known his life was in danger for some time and had his spymaster place a secret bounty on his own life. For their aid the party would be able to collect this bounty. By his order, The King’s famously scarred hand was removed as evidence that they completed this task. The party collected his crown, his hand, and then burned his body. They journeyed on to Black Shell. Shortly after arriving in the city and beginning their search for the King’s daughter, the group was ushered to the local arena for an announcement. The very King they had just buried days ago now stood before the crowd. He declared that the kingdom was partnering with the cultists to defend against an even greater oncoming threat. Note: This story appears to be tailored to enhance only magic users, but I will make sure that non-magical classes have bonuses as well. I’m sure my Barbarian and Rogue will attest to that.
