[LFP] 1-4 players for The Mutant Epoch post-apocalypse RPG

The year is 2364. It has been centuries since the now forgotten calamity ravaged Earth. However, the planet is teeming with life and the remnants of humanity have adapted and once more are beginning to flourish. Technology has regressed to a state similar to that of Medieval Europe, with the most common weapons being the sword, crossbow, and musket. However, the relics of the old world lie waiting to be unearthed by brave explorers. The value of a still functioning assault rifle can set up a person in luxury for several years. You may be asking "If such things are just lying around and are so valuable, why doesn't everyone go digging for them?" The answer to that question brings about tales of such horrifying creatures, mutant beasts, and war machines of the Old Ones that chills the bones of those who hear them. That douses the fires of ambition in many, but those who are either brave, desperate, or hungry enough will go searching for these relics regardless of the dangers. That is when they officially become known as Excavators, relic hunters in this terrifying new world. Welcome to the Mutant Epoch. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This post is to gather people who are interested in The Mutant Epoch setting. It will remain up for about a month or when there are enough players. Now, I am only looking to host for about 1-4 people starting out. That is right, even if only one person joins by the time the post is taken down, I will start the adventure and go about crafting a wondrous adventure for you to sink your teeth into. Now, when someone decides its time for them to take their leave, that is perfectly alright, though their character story will come to an end that makes sense for the character in game. However, what is most wonderful about this world is that even should everyone who joins for the game decides they all want to leave, the world still remains persistent and affected by their choices. So when new people decide to join and start a game, they will be placed into the world left behind by the previous group. This way, even if you can only stick for a short amount of time, your mark on the world will be lasting and affect everyone who comes after you, for better or ill. If you like what you've read, then please post a response below. I will answer whatever questions I can pertaining to the game and should you be truly interested in joining, I will invite you to the group page and discord.
I always fancy myself a post-apocalypse, but must of course ask what kind of system you intend to utilize, and what kind of timezone you schedule your campaign around ^^
The Mutant Epoch uses the Outlands System developed by William McAusland. The system is primarily a d100 percentile system, with d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, d100, and rarely d1000 dice used for damage dice. It is a very free form type of system that does not focus on class roles for a character, rather a wide variety of skills, abilities, and stats to determine what a character can do. Think original Fallout 1, but even more free form than that. As for the time zone, I schedule around East Coast Time in North America. Most games will be in the evening time Friday - Sunday, but depending on the group size and the days that work out for people, earlier times or other days can be made to work.
Uuuh, free form. I fancy that quite often ^^ The times make a worry a wittle bit as an European, but nothing ventured nothing gained, eh? ^^
Hello! I'm looking for a small group (one to four) so this is right up my alley. I'm also ECT. Do you prepare your scenarios or do you improvise? I'm looking for someone who prepares ahead of time as opposed to just wing the whole thing. In other words I'm looking for someone who prepares a module of some kind. I wasn't familiar with the system but it looks fun. Do you use active or passive role-playing? Voice or text? Thank you!
I use a hybrid between preparing and improv. I use setting material provided by the original author of the setting, which in this case there is a lot of, and further flesh out the characters of each location and add my own. I design my worlds to be reactive to the players, but the world does not stand still waiting for the players to show up. I will have an grand story arch in place, with events all over the map happening at pre set times and certainly an end goal in mind for the story. However, I like to give my players complete freedom in their choices and the ability to affect the world in any way they see fit. I do not give important characters plot armor just to tell a story. If the characters can pull something off, I let them do so and thus some improv is required to accomadate such freedom. Also, while I do sometimes incorporate existing modules into my adventures, I do not rely on them solely. The become a part of my world, rather than being my game world. My roleplay style is very much active. I love to give detail to every scene and interaction. It’s the only way for proper immersion to happen and put the personality of the characters on full display. Now while I encourage players to think about a solution to a problem, (or even come up with an unconventional solution I didn’t see coming)  I will always make sure to stimulate whoever is in the group with potential threads that can lead to solutions, despite the player not being required to follow that thread. i prefer voice as it allows me to express the personality of each character through the different voices I give them and allows for quicker communication in the group. However, I have done plenty of games with just text or a hybrid between the two, so I can accomadate those who do not have mics or are a little shy to talk.
Thank you for the in-depth reply. I'd like to try out, I think it'd be the best way to make up my mind about whether I like it or not.  As for the time zone, I schedule around East Coast Time in North America. Most games will be in the evening time Friday - Sunday, but depending on the group size and the days that work out for people, earlier times or other days can be made to work. If you'll have me, I'll wait and see what time your are suggesting and take things from there? PM if you're interested. If not, I wish you the best in your game.
hi any chance you still have a spot available
