We should be able to hide the jukebox of what is currently playing
It would be great if we could hide the jukebox of what is currently playing. Music can be a HUGE part of the game, and surprise is a huge part of the game. Sometimes the name of the music might spoil a special surprise!
There is value in this, its a no brainer. Keeping track of 20-100 background music sources with code names would be very cumbersome. Music and sound are a huge part of my games. keeping the game flowing is important, and DM already has lots to keep track of besides memorizing or de-coding music names.
Agree with Evan. This may be useful in a very specialized case like yourself's, but a simple solution that would work for vast majority of people would be to just rename the song.
Its a work around for people who are not using much audio in their games, seems so lazy. (and Evan said NOTHING about "very specialized case like mine" .
Evan said NOTHING about "very specialized case like mine" Sorry for the confusion. That part was my claim not Evan's (the agreement part was in reference to his suggested solution - what you called "lazy workaround"). Using so many background music doesn't seem like a typical case to me, but I'll fully admit I can be wrong about this as that impression is completely anecdotal. So I should have put those caveats in the initial comment.
No Problems :) It just seems like a no brainier and even very easy for the devs to do. I think music and sound effects are an under utilized tool for GMs, AND even an under realized opportunity for the roll20 team.
