[LFG] [Cyberpunk2020] [Total Newb]

[LFG] [Cyberpunk2020]I've been utterly fascinated by the game. Excited for 2077, and would really like to play with someone who's experienced. Monday's are best day for me weekly! But failing any interest in taking me as a player... I'd kick around refereeing a game of my own. If anyone wants to help me please say something.
Good luck man, been looking for a game since the 90s.
No need for luck. If i don't find anything or anyone soon... i'll sloppily try my hand at referee-ing a game of my own. It'll most likely be Monday Nights, about 4 or 5pm Central Standard Time (Nebraska Time). And run for about 3 to four hours. I'm already working on some ideas for a booster gang themed play group. With my inexperience as a Referee, i'll probably limit Roles. Netrunners, kinda do their own thing separate from the rest of the group, so probably not going to run them. Being a booster gang, probably not going to run cops, or media. Though I'd talk to someone about running a corporate, I have an idea for that. I'd allow with discussion for a corrupt cop. Kicking around ideas, and writing out some stuff. If you know anyone who'd wanna play, let me know.

Don't get discouraged. There are a lot of us playing 2020 still, most of us are actually waiting for Cyberpunk RED. (RED is the next CP game that takes place right after 2020 and before 2077, eta August this year). 2020 is a gritty flashy game of us vs the corpos, RED is a game of survival, exploration, treasure finding, and more traditional RPG using the Fuzion system with the FNFF combat mechanics of 2020. The world is no longer interconnected after the 4th corporate war. When RED comes I'm sure you'll see this forum explode with LFGs and LFPs. Best advice I can give a new referee: Netrunners are NPCs and make their abilities realistic. Netrunning is a separate game from 2020 and super complex at that. Don't look at roles as "classes" look at them as archetypes. Cops have authority, but gang lieutenants can also have authority with the same skillset as cops. Media is your recruiters, and the person doing coverups. The roles they list are very malleable, and are meant to be part of a grander picture of archetypes. There's great sourcebook content, and great filler content too. Don't be afraid to look into alternative content, the community has done a great job advancing 2020. Allow players to pick an archetype but change a few skills to fit them. And don't allow starting players anything over 6 or 7 to start with, and no skill over their primary main skill. Make sure players understand they will die. A 9mm handgun is powerful enough to kill almost everyone with one shot. Style over substance is a great rule. The better your style, the better the game will flow. Doors open for players who look the role. Flashy characters don't wait in line, and don't need to ask twice for tips and help. Also, if you're running a gang themed gang, may I suggest Carnival? http://datafortress2020.com/carnival.html
Thank you for some great advice. I've posted a listing for a potential game, and have a story in mind. But I'll definitely look at this Carnival for some ideas an to see how a cyberpunk story flows. Thank you for your response!
