Hello LFG, Three of my friends and myself are currently in search for a DM to start a new, long-term campaign with that will hopefully last an extended period of time. Below, you will find a brief description of us, our experience, and what we are looking for with this new adventure. About Us: We are four guys in our mid to late 20’s that have been playing 5E for just over a year (some have experience running games as well). We are a tight group of friends that really enjoy playing this game with each other. All of us participated in a campaign that just finished up, which lasted from levels 1 – 9. The game was played using Roll20 and used Discord for audio and video. I will say, our lives are fairly busy, so our schedules are fairly restricted to Thursday nights. All of us are very dedicated to the game and are willing to invest time into creating an epic game that we could all enjoy equally. During the duration of our last campaign, we only had to cancel a handful of times due to schedule conflicts. Also, some of us (possibly all) are even interested in starting to use voices for our characters to add to the “immersion” of the game What we are looking for: The most ideal situation is that we play Thursday nights, around 7:00 PM EST. Obviously this is very restricting, but unfortunately it is what we have to work with given our various schedules. Everyone in the group is a massive fan of the Critical Role series and would enjoy playing that style of game (sandbox custom world, some minor homebrew stuff where required, combat driven with good balance of story). Now obviously we don’t expect to find the next Matt Mercer to run our game, we just enjoy the general structure that he plays. Ideally, we would prefer a slightly more encounter-based game (puzzles, combats, RP encounters) that still has room to explore that world and build relations with the NPCs of your world. One other thing, we really prefer to roll real dice when playing. Obviously, there is a certain amount of trust between the group that no one is “cheating”, but after a year we have faith in each other that we are all honest with what gets rolled. Even with our last games, Nat20s were shown on cameras at times just to validate the roll in-case there was concern. This might seem silly, but it's something we really do enjoy doing. Now, we recognize that we listed a fair amount of things we are looking for and not all of the things that are listed above will work, and exceptions can be made Also, there is plenty of time to plan our characters, backstories, world settings and what ever needs done as we would like to start sometime near the end of June or early July (or sooner if you desire). As someone who runs this style of game right now, I recognize this is no small endeavor, and this might take some time to get running. If you are a DM that is interested in running this style of a game or if you have any further questions about this group, please feel free to contact me! Thank You!
