Is the Monster Manual Required?

So I'm currently about to start a brand new Campaign in the Sunless Citadel for D&D 5e. However, it looks like none of the monsters in the campaign have any ability macros assigned to them (see image below). Does this mean that I'm required to purchase the Monster Manual to have all the ability rolls populate? Or do I need to input them all manually? I ask because I just finished playing as a PC in a "Lost Mines of Phandelver" campaign and my DM said that he didn't need the Monster Manual, everything was already preloaded in. Is the Sunless Citadel just not coded for it?

None of the WotC modules or products (including the Monster Manual) have token actions/macros built in. They do have character sheets which you can roll from. Remember that Sunless Citadel is an addon, and you'll need to set the Character Sheet for the game manually. From the screenshot it looks like your game hasn't set a character sheet yet. You can do that on the Game Settings page. https://wiki.roll20.net/Game_Settings_Page
Ahhhhh ok that's why none of that information was showing up. I was missing the character sheets. So at this point it should be decently easy to set up the Macros, or else I can just roll them from the character sheet. I think when my friend was doing Lost Mines it wasn't considered an Add On so that's why some of this stuff was different. I just assumed they'd be the same. Thank you very much for your help!

LMoP is a module, so it was configured during game setup to use the correct character sheet - it usually auto selects the right sheet when using a module. Additional tip - you can open a character sheet directly from a token on the map by alt-double clicking on the token.
Hi Heroofhatz!, I have moved this thread to our Specific Use Questions & Macros forum for you. Thanks!
