Hi everyone, I played a heap of RPGs back in the 90s (Shadowrun, Middle Earth, D&D, Paranoia, HoL) but the problem was, the central concept of how RPGs should be played was kind of lost on me. I partly blame the amateur DMs we had, as well as the stupid amounts of pot and beer that accompanied each game. As a gamer, and thanks to that past experience, I can grok a ruleset quickly, so shouldn't be an impediment to all but the most advanced of groups... with that said, I'll need a bit of a hand just getting used to roll20 functions. Now I'm in my 40s, I totally dig how it's all about setting the scene, and telling your stories through dice roles (and roleplaying). I'm incredibly keen to get back into it, but have no idea where to start... roll20 looks pretty amazing so I think my journey definitely starts here. About me; Age: 42 Location: Tasmania, Australia Playing Times: Sunday through Friday, 8pm to midnight (AEST) Preferred Games: I'm most partial to Shadowrun, but can dig pretty much anything! Quirks: I definitely am not keen to fully RP a damn thing... I love a good narrative and I'll certainly build that out, but largely I'd like to call the play then roll the dice, e.g. "I'm gonna stab the troll in the balls *rolls dice*. Definitely keen to play with older gamers/parents as well. Will also check out the LFG search feature but wanted to say hi here first. Cheers all :)
