Hey, my name is Chris and I am the host and DM for the twitch channel DamagedDice. I am excited to ask you to join us for our community Dungeons and Dragons game set in my world of Crimson Skies. You get to be a member of the prestigious Azure Adventurers Guild, housed inside the Azure Moon Tavern in the city of Silver Hall. To avoid a major lore read, which is all available on our Discord Server, with more on the way, let me tell you exactly how this works. I have a love for this game and the community. That, is my driving point for this, and as a streamer I want people to be excited and to enjoy their first time playing or even their thirty plus years. It is my greatest desire to build a community of players who can join in for our Drop in Drop out West March style of session one shots, to tell a greater story in the Crimson Skies Universe , guest in one of our other games, and even find other players to play with as well. We have one weekly session and a rotating session of Azure Adventurers and as player and community member numbers rise there will be room for more sessions. This however isn't just me, as I have two amazing Moderators who are also running weekly RP Text sessions for players to take part in. Plus, we would love to see active members join our ranks as you get to know the world and its rich lore. Now I know it might be a concern to some about what part you will be taking in the Crimson Skies Verse, as there is a campaign set on Tuesdays. Well your actions as Azure Adventurers are just as influential as theirs and possibly more so. As an Adventurers guild is able to reach more of the world than a singular group dealing with their own focused story. You all have the ability to ease the potential burdens they may come across, or accidentally push them towards the group, while they may also do the same to you. The Azure Adventurers Guild is designed to tell the grander story of the world, while also exploring the stories of the PCs too. You are NOT second fiddle to the Tuesday night Crew, you are equals who get a lot more of my attention. Lastly, all sessions we play will be streamed on the Twitch.tv/damageddice twitch channel. While you don’t need a Camera, it is appreciated greatly when you have one, & it is a MUST that you have a Headset and a Mic. I cannot wait to have you join us. The world of the Crimson Skies Verse is set in a modern era with heavy inspiration from Final Fantasy and Eberron. You can expect modern amenities with magical enhancement/changes. Cars built with Arcane Elemental Crystals, Airships of varying sizes and shapes with encloses decks of steel, firearms and rules for them, Nine individual countries with one being inaccessible at this time. Scrap your normal knowledge of the Divine, in this world there is only the Triune of Old Ones, and their children the Divine Elementals. It’s a homebrew world, homebrew classes and races? Unfortunately no is my answer on that. There are plenty of amazing races produced by WOTC, and classes too. We will be sticking with those How do I generate Stats? We use Avrae as a Dice Bot during text RP & Text sessions, and also for Character Generation. You may use the best of two !randchar populations or utilize standard point buy. What level are we starting at? Every Character will begin at level 5, and you will be provided a character sheet when you join. Reminder to read the lore a bit and find a place where your character would fit in the world with the backstory you have in mind. Will I be able to continue playing this Character? If you survive, yes. But as this is a persistent world, feel free to come to the table with a fresh level 5 character and basic equipment. What if my stats are awful? Its D&D, have fun with it. The game isnt about winning, its about enjoying the time you're spending with other people. What isn't allowed? Yuan-Ti PureBlood. Homebrew Races and Classes. Should I have a backstory? Sure! These games are designed to be persistent. If you decide after a job/mission/quest to continue with your character, and you find a group of fellow players that click well with him/her, we can work a one shot series in, or try and squeeze your backstory into bits and pieces of the games over the course of time. I'm new, can I join? HELL YES! Come join, and never fear about making a mistake! We are very patient and want to help new players grow. What if I am a vet of D&D? Yeah, please. No backseat DMing or Rules Lawyering or giving other players guff for not making the "standard choice" but you are 100% welcome here. How big is this community, will I be welcome? It is growing, and yes you will be. I totally get that it will be a big system shock to joining us, but it will be a great time. We will do our best to help you feel welcome and apart of the community. Honestly, you can make some amazing friends and meet some great people here as well. Everyone here is very approachable and happy to help, never feel like you are annoying anyone. How do I know when a session is looking for players? Be active in the Discord Community and answer the Discord call, if you haven't played in some time or ever, you will absolutely get a seat. We have events going on in Text RP too throughout the week so you will always have something to do.
