(So long as this post remains up, we are still looking for a DM. We'll take it down once we've found someone.) Hey, everyone! My group and I (5 of us in total) are looking for a DM to take over a game we started about a month and a half ago on Wednesday or Friday nights with a 6 PM PST start (We are all on PST with differing work schedules). Unfortunately, due to some issues with the current DM, the group has decided it's best for us to move on with someone better equipped to handle these characters and this story. Our group is made up of creative professionals (artists, writers, voice actors, etc.), all of who take the game, the roleplay aspects, the combat, and the logical progression of story pretty seriously. Some notes for anyone interested in signing up: -We're an LGBTQ+ friendly group, and the characters reflect that, so we'd love some inclusion in our NPCs and world. We also have players who identify as they/them, and we feel that should be respected. -WE LOVE ROLEPLAY!!! We're a bunch of nerds who live for character development, but we also really dig the intensity and stakes brought to combat so a healthy mixture of both would be really appreciated. We're also very on board for character development to take time to progress--everyone loves a slow burn payoff when it's handled well. -We are a group of 21+ years of age players. No one younger than that, please. -With that said, our characters are diverse, but there is a common thread throughout a majority of them--they've all suffered abuse in one way or another, and their alignments reflect the choices they made in their past. Any DM who wants to hop aboard should be totally aware that heavier topics will be discussed by these characters (slavery, brutality, sexual abuse, etc.). It's not something any of us are taking lightly, but these are the things a few of the characters in the group are living with and speak on matter of factly. Our original DM made an extremely brutal world, and we made characters to reflect that, but they're far from dark or edgy™. We're also in complete agreement that if something goes too far, we can reach out and change the backstories to create a better environment for all involved. We just wanna game, y'all. -No sexual NSFW!!! Any and all scenes that involve character/character or character/npc relations will be treated as fade to blacks. -Reply with "aardvark" if you express interest, please. Just shows that this is being read. XD -We are dealing with a fantasy setting that already has some buildup, but we're happy to hold a session 0 with the new DM to just fill them in on everything. We don't want to pigeonhole anyone coming aboard from telling an awesome story--we just REALLY love the emotional development our characters have had so far and would love to maintain that. So any DM who's looking for adaptation as opposed to a FULL world build is more than welcome to reach out! -We also dig having little "smoke break" chats in Discord that act as ways for us to hold conversations between characters out of session so we can continue to develop our characters. Unfortunately we were chastised for "using up our time" by our previous DM for DnD nonsense happening in session and we felt pretty burned for thinking DnD should be fun with friends. Ultimately, we just want to have a welcoming game ran by someone who can handle things with maturity. We'll 100% respect you as a creative and DM, and we want this to be as fun for the DM as it is the players. We all want to make the best game possible.
