Question about sharing compendiums

Is it possible for a player in a game (not the DM) to share a compendium to the game? Following the instructions in the wiki, I can't seem to find where I would share it, if players can share. I own a compendium on here that my DM doesn't, so for things from that one, we have so far been copy/pasting the information form DnDBeyond. It's a bit tedious lol. I figured since I own the main compendium we seem to be referencing, I would share it to the game - but I'm only a player.

It's not based on who is DM, but on the creator of the game. If you want to share a compendium but not be the DM, you would need to create the game and promote them to DM. The copy-paste workaround your are presently using is tedious, yes, but unfortunately some concessions need to be made in order to secure licensing in light of copyright protection. I.e. I doubt there is anything Roll20 could legally do to change how this works. It is likely part of the licensing agreement that allows them to use the books in the first place.

Thanks for the answer.

Current work around is to start the game as the Compendium owner, then promote whoever is intending to be the main GM to co-GM. They agree this is clunky and not ideal, and they would like to simplify this as part of the Compendium process.
