[LFP][Shadowrun 5e][EDT] Looking for players for 2 Shadowrun games.

Hi folks, My name's Pete, and I am looking for at least two players for two Shadowrun games. The first takes place on Friday evenings from 7pm EDT to 11p, EDT.  Plop those times into any timezone converter to get your local time.  Suffice to say that it's really late for European players, and evening for NA players.  The game has had 2 players who've had to drop out, and I am looking to fill their shoes.  The game has been rebooted, after 2.5 years, so now's a good time to get in.  It's a street level game, meaning you'll start play as maybe a ganger, or someone in a rough spot in life, at the very least in a spot where your character considers the shadows as a way to make the rent.  It is based in the traditional SR city, Seattle. One of my players, Pat, who will be by shortly to talk about it, is the GM for the second game.  It, too, has lost 2 players, and we're looking to fill those slots in.  The game takes place on Sunday afternoons, from 1pm EDT to 5pm EDT.  A very short blurb for now: the players are up and coming 'runners, who've participated in 'runs across NA (including the sub-Arctic) and are now currently in Europe.  The game is a bit non-standard, less pure Shadowrun and a bit more Leverage/the Equalizer in feel.  I'll leave Pat to add in more description. Our group is mature (40+), though we have had 20 and 30-somethings play over the course of about 2.5 years.  We're also friendly, ready to welcome players of all stripes, shapes and sizes. This is not a first come, first served deal, though.  We're going to leave the post open for a few weeks, and we'll talk to everyone who is interested.  Thank you for your time and consideration of this players wanted ad.

Hello, My name is Jason and I would be interested in joining, My local time is EST so there should be no problem with timezone and Fridays at 7 are perfectly good for me. I would love to play in the Sunday game as well if it would be acceptable to have the same player run in two games. A little about myself: I'm 27 years old, male, and have been married for 4 years, I have predominantly played D&D and pathfinder though I have had experience with several other systems including shadowrun. Out of all these systems I like the themes of shadowrun the most, for it's mechanics as as style and AD&D for it's roleplaying opportunities. In most of these games I have been the DM/GM an so rarely get a chance to be a player myself. I enjoy putting a lot of extra effort into cosmetics of my characters be it backstory or nick knacks that I keep on my characters even if they don't bring gameplay effects. I'm very open to good and bad things happening to my character and leaving outcomes to the hands of fate, if I ever do have a problem with a GM's ruling I prefer to hold the discussion at the end of the session and work with the GM to come to an understanding. I enjoy playing magic based characters but I dislike the idea of having to be born with "The gift" (such is the case of shadowrun) in these situations I will ether still playing using magic despite the thematic of the setting or shun such cases and choose based on my whats available to the common person. That said what I enjoy the most is playing support to the party, I would rather have the parties input on what would be useful and then build my characters background AROUND the options I have chosen. I feel it's much easier to write my backstory and character design after getting the mechanics out of the way as oppose to trying to find mechanics that fit my character. Thank you for reading my post, if I seem like the type of person that would be a good fit for ether or both of your games or you wish to talk to me further, I hope I hear from you soon.
Hello omae, I'm Pat - storyteller for the Sunday game Pete referred to (and player in the Friday game). The Sunday game had been meandering a bit, but has settled in the United Netherlands (western Europe) lately, and for the foreseeable future, I expect. The two current characters are of North American extraction, but that's certainly neither a requirement nor an expectation. As Pete already indicated, I tend to tell stories a bit more involved with moral quandaries than is perhaps usual for Shadowrun. Some of it is fairly close to "hooding", but there's also more personal aspects to it. Purely mercenary characters would be a bad fit, as a result. Another quirk of the campaign has been some bleed-through of material from folklore and old Earthdawn elements. People interested in some "urban fantasy" aspects in their cyberpunk would probably find this interesting. I embrace inclusiveness in my game (and life), and diversity in the background of both players and characters from the "gamer default" is much appreciated. I would much rather invest in someone who is sincere, creative and engaging, but of limited familiarity with rules or setting, than a die-hard gamer that knows the mechanics to everything but the value of very little. Having said that: Shadowrun 5th edition can be crunchy in a somewhat bewildering way. I tend to hand-wave quite a lot, since the flow of the story and how well it sparks the imagination is a lot more important to me than exact application of the rulebooks - especially since those can be a little contradictory. So, if Shadowrun-the-system seems daunting, you will certainly find an understanding audience among us, although it cannot be entirely avoided. Well, that covers most of it, I figure. I hope I didn't sound too strident. Goodness knows I can be opinionated, but I try and not have it get in the way of enjoying shared stories and imagination. If you enjoy characters that get immersed in the world and live it through their eyes, as well as fellow players that are considerate and attentive - you'd be most welcome.

Hello Pat I would be very Interested in joining your game. I have only played Shadowrun once in my 3 years of RPG experience but it seems like a fun game to play and Learn how to. My name is Cameron, I’m 18 and would love to play a character from a broken down life who somehow still has hope in his heart. He would be named Lucky and would be Optimistic allowing for a sort of shoulder for the other players to lean on and get to know. My goal is to make him as likable as possible and not only grow close with the Other runners but also to grow close to the group and have an amazing time!  Hopefully the post isn’t to long and I hope to hear a reply. Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day!-Discord: Killerfox#8039

Very much so interested.  I admittedly don't have the most Shadowrun experience, but I do know the basics.  It has been a few years since I've played as well.   Not entirely sure what you would want me to say in a forum post, I'm better just talking to people than trying to talk about myself here.  Assuming that player personality cohesion is your primary concern, it would certainly be easier for me that way. Otherwise, I'm 33, and live in, well... Seattle. If you want to talk about or ask anything, let me know.  Discord is honestly the easiest place to get a hold of me so feel free to toss me a friend request there.  Discord - Erpman
I'm be interested in either game, but Ideally would rather play in the friday game. (i got a game on sundays that doesn't end til about an hour after that game starts) I've got a small amount of experience with shadowrun but a large amount of experience with TTRPGs in general. my discord is Greyguardgaming#4402  if you wanna ask me any questions

Okay, I've sent everyone PMs here, and also friend requests in Discord.  Hoping to chat on Saturday!
If its not too late, I would be interested in either or both games. I've not played Shadowrun before, but it is definitely a system and setting that I have looked at and been very interested in playing. I'm 33, my timezone is CDT so there shouldn't be any timing issues, and I've got experience in 3.5, 5e, Starfinder, and GURPS. My discord is Spac3Cad3t#3098
Okay, still looking for a couple of prospective players for the Sunday Shadowrun game.  So bumping this ad.
Okay, we have found our prospective players.  To those of you who weren't accepted, I will keep you in mind if we have player slots open in future. Thank you for your interest.
