I've been running campaigns on Roll20 for years now, but lately I've noticed several issues regarding page response times for players and myself. This issue seems to be restricted for my campaigns with extensive journal/page lists and numerous assets. In one I am running, Way of the Wicked, the journal entries are only made up for the first two books, but when editing journal entries I have noticed the website begins to lag immediately, taking extra time to process changes. My players have noticed similar issues, but it hasn't been anything that can't be persevered with. However, I am in the process of preparing another campaign I have run in the past for new players, this campaign has years worth of assets loaded into it, and upon attempting to load a journal entry, even while on a blank page, the entire game freezes. Load times normally reach into minutes, rarely being as quick as they should. Many times even trying to change who the entry is visible to either stops the page entirely, forcing me to reload the window, or occasionally bring up the standard message saying connection has been lost. This issue seems to extend to my players as well, as some have stated being unable to send/receive any inputs in the campaign even while loaded on a blank page. CPU usage doesn't seem to increase when a journal entry is loaded, so it shouldn't be a hardware issue at least. I don't claim to be a technical wizard though, so the problem could be anything.
