Tranquillity Dawn July 16, 2019 Travellers: Leon [Alex] Thea [Dylan] Viky [Chris] Dr Fred [Garret] Sabina [Hannia] “No One Died” y295.49.1 Planning continues for the Traveller’s goal of stealing the key to the Count’s vault. On 49.4 the Count will be hosting a Knighting ceremony at his estate for Opal Price, his favorite subordinate. After the ceremony the event will turn into a party in Opal’s honor. The Traveller’s believe the “key” is in the Count’s private office or study. Baron Lattimore introduced the Traveller’s to Sabina Ruth, a fourth cousin of his who is on the run due to her involvement in the Tamaeus Project and her association with the projects former director, Dr Huan Gang. From the Baron, the Travellers also learn that the head of the Count’s security detail is a retired Mensah army Captain named Darwin Carswell. Vance does 15 sets of 100 pushups and 15 sets of 50 pullups. Late in the day the Traveller’s and their newly hired assistants move to the estate of Baron Lattimore. y295.49.2 Dr Freddrick has some amazingly exceptional good fortune in finding online line, an obscure image of a shelf hanging in the Count’s private study. This image was found on an extremely low traffic site run by a member of the “Fragile History Society” . A small, elite group of rich Nobles on Crowler who collect antiques made of glass. How and where the image came from could not be determined, however it does show a pyramid shaped object that the Traveller’s suspect is the “key”. Sabina, who worked on remote sensing equipment for the Tamaeus project, working with the hired expert in the electronics and computers to quickly build a device that will allow them to hack into the security feeds at the Count’s estate. They test it on the Baron’s security system and it and consider it usable. It will have to be taken into the Count’s estate and attached to the internal physical security equipment. Several of the Traveller’s attempt to calculate a possible set of dimensions for the “key” from the single image. They work with Elmo, their hired 3D printing expert, to create a facsimile of what they see in the image. They construct it in pieces that can be assembled into the correct shape. They also make two additional facsimiles, one slightly larger and one slightly smaller. [Excellent Planning!] Dr Freddrick, Vicky and Leon practise assembling the fake so that, under pressure they could each assemble it in under a minute, about four combat rounds. Dr Freddrick hides the pieces in his medical kit. Vicky has Sir Gibbs, a hired gun and ex Major in the Mensah army, conduct a mock security check on the doctor and his equipment. Because he is focusing on looking for weapons he ignores the facsimile pieces. [Practising to avoid failure!] Sir Gibbs is then asked to coordinate with the Count’s security detail in order to learn about protocols and procedure Vicky, a Marquesa from the Corador cluster, will need to know while attending the Count’s event. He is also given 20,000 credits to purchase proper attire for himself and for Ester Gibbs, the other hired gun. They purchase off the shelf matching suits with built in cloth armor. They look like acceptable but no one will mistake them for the elite of Crowler society. Thea has the Baron contact a friend of his, Latosha Clemmons, a talented woman who does cosmetic styling for members of the Angels of Avalon. She gives Thea and Vance a complete makeover, altering their appearance slightly. The Traveller’s are hoping this will be enough to prevent Opal Price from recognizing them. Later, through the Baron, Thea hires a strange highly tattooed man named Lavern Valentine, an expert at forgery. The problem is that Valentine is the forgery expert used by Opal Price during her scam of brokers on Quartermark. Thea fears that he might recognize her. He fears are validated when Valentine shows up at the Baron’s estate and questions if he and Thea know each other. Thea deflects his train of thought by claiming to be an Angel of Avalon. [Great Save!]. Valentine is paid 40,000 credits to create identification showing that Thea is Krista Salazar. A member of the Mensah army that Thea accidentally killed in the Keystone system. The Baron has a friend, Samuel Morse, who owns a 50 ton cutter and runs an insystem transport service called “Upward Bonds”. They could hire him and rent his cutter for 12 hours at a cost of 60,000 credits. Morse would ask no questions due to the favors he owns Baron Lattimore. Vicky brain storms plans to get the Count to take her to his private study/office. They debate the merits of Vicky using her status as a Noble of Corador to hint that the Count could expand his influence there. Thea also suggests tempting the Count by using the strange graphic recovered from a Tantry marine officer who had an unpleasant encounter with Thea’s broadsword. Vance does 30 sets of 20 setups and works on his stretching and flexibility. y295.49.3 Sabina is outfitted with a generic vacc suit. Leon and Dr Freddrick purchase seven Laser Carbines and take them to the Star Lance . Dr Feddrick spend the rest of the day creating a contact poison from various medical supplies. He then attempts to create a non-lethal neuro-toxin. Leon volunteers to test it. [??????!!!!!] The doctor is good at his job, too good. Leon comes close to dying and has a near death experience. The doctor is able to counter the effects of his poison and pull Leon back from oblivion, but it is a close call. [Alex rolled a 4. On a 7 or greater Leon would have taken another 2d6 damage. Yeah, it was that closel.] Leon vows to take another hit of that toxin. Y295.49.4 The Traveller’s awake in Baron Lattimore’s spherical estate. They are hours away from the ceremony to Knight Opal Price for her exceptional work in the Quartermark cluster. Continued Next Week - Party Hardy with Death
