Roll D20 Challenges

Hello, Forum Moderator(s), After spending hours and hours including in the tutorial, wiki, and YouTube, some with players, to get things going with a module purchased then scouring the forums to find out some basic gameplay functions don't work. E.g. outdoor map where characters can see themselves or NPCs but not the map. I used the CTRL+L combo from the GM view which showed the map. I'm giving up on D20. I am requesting a refund for the two modules I purchased. I'll check back now and again to see where things are heading. Please and thanks, Bob C.

To obtain a refund, you must email team@roll20.net, as this is not handled via the forums.
What seems to be the problem? I don't think I understand.
I'm sharing a map with the players. The map is an outdoors location. I'm not using fog of war. The bookmark is positioned over the map so the players should see it. The players can't see it. When I change to user mode from GM mode, I can't see it as a player either. When I go back to GM mode, I select CTRL plus L which shows me what the selected character should see, the map I'm sharing...but the character still can't see it. The character can see NPCs I place on the map but again, not the map itself. I did share the "Cover Art" for the module with them to start things, which they did see, but when I switched to the map of the town. Nothing. The module is called Hall of the Dragon Queen.

Make sure the token they are looking though is assigned to a character they control, and that it has sight, and that they are either emitting light, there is a light source on the page (a token with "everyone sees light" checked), or that global illumination is turned on (not recommended with AFoW). If you would like to post screen shots of the page settings, and both the settings tabs on a problem token, we might be able to help you pin down the issue.

Also, make sure the map is on the correct layer...
Hi Bob, You should check out the Roll20 wiki as I believe that your issues are simply not having the correct settings on their your tokens or character sheets as stated above. Check out this wiki link for a tutorial on how to properly set up your tokens and the features within the token settings. https://wiki.roll20.net/Token_Features This will show you how to correctly link your token to a character sheet in your journal tab https://wiki.roll20.net/Linking_Tokens_to_Journals Alternatively you could search this on youtube and find a fantastic amount of tutorials on how to set this up properly.
Thanks all. I'll try those suggestions out. In the meantime, the game, my game, has been deleted based on my request for a refund. I've another D&D module to try these things on. While adding a light source is logical, given the outdoor map I was using, I didn't think of adding light...kinda thought that would be a default setting. In a dungeon, absolutely! Ironically, I had watched several youtube videos on lighting...but thought those were related to FoW and Dynamic Lighting only.
