Player can't see token

Hi I'm running a game tonight for my partner and a few friends and today when we were doing some pre roleplay we discovered that they could not see their player token on any other map than the starting map. Their token is on the token layer, I have them assigned to the character and I tried both pulling their token from the journal as well as copy-pasting the token to the other map. Any suggestions?
We changed the image on their token and that seemed to make them visible. For the future can anyone explain?

It has to do with the order in which you set up the token. Make all changes and then set as the default token. If you set a default token and make changes afterward, the default token doesn't recognize those changes. It's likely that the token you were originally dragging onto the map did not have the correct assignments. Changing the image on the correctly set up token and then saving it as default caught all of those changes. Set as default = Saving your work. If you save a Word document, it will have all of your changes when you re-open. If you make changes but don't save, the file won't have your latest changes.
Ooookay, that makes sense. Thank you very much!
