[LFG][Any game][NewPlayer] Want to get started but only avaliable at weird times

Hi guys, LFG that wouldn't mind meeting after 11pm GMT. I am on a satellite internet connection that is uncapped between 11pm and 7am GMT. I'm based in Ireland and have played D&D ages ago. Can play before 11pm but any downloading has to be miniscule so would probably have to ration things like video and streaming. Post here or PM if ye have a game available!
So are you seeking middle of the night, GMT?  I am available to set up a 5e sword & Sorcery, low fantasy game in Thailand, that would start at around 9 AM GMT+7m which would be your 2 AM.  Problem is as you say, weird times, hard to find players. In any case, welcome to roll20.

Hi Rae. With your limited internet bandwidth, have you thought about text based gaming? There is no voice or video used and while it is slower than voice games, many text games accommodate conflicting time zones easier than voice games.
Have you tested voice chat with your satellite connection before?  Or been able to use Skype or Discord successfully before?  I once played with a player on a satellite connection and it was very hard for him to hear us (and us him) because the latency just made everything break up constantly.

Ping is hilarious on Satellite but the quality is good. It just means awkward silences as I make sure you have finished speaking so we don't cut over each other. Playing anything online MMORPG-wise is tricky as any actions I do happen about 21ms behind the server. Lots of dying. My receiver is stationary (fixed to the house), but I can imagine military and navy would have poorer connections as their receivers are in motion while maintaining connections. Pat S. said: Hi Rae. I looked for text games (email and postal!) but couldn't find any; even tried getting friends to consider starting a few. If you know of a place that lists such things (a directory) then I'd love to check it out. So there isn't much late night waiting around for me.
Look for US evening games.  They'll be 5-8 hours behind you, so 11pm BST is currently 5pm EDT.  You're hitting prime US play time.

I have a text based gamer's community of over 700 members. There are a few games recruiting right now. Some are live text sessions and others are various forms of pbp. The community LFG link is in my profile.

Just answered your post and sent an invite. At work now so I can't reply much but there are plenty of people to answer any any questions.
Good luck, it seems like you have a good start here, Rae.
