Token question

Hi all, Enjoying roll20 with my group tremendously. I'm still having some issues with dynamic lightning and light sources, but that's user error :) I've bought Volo's Guide as well, but now I'm having troubles in getting Goblins on the map. It seems that even the MM source is seen as an SRC source for a NPC, and I just wanted the map to be flooded by regular Goblins. What am I doing wrong?
Hello DaJur, As this is general use question, I have moved your post to the Specific Use Questions and Macros forum.

Not sure what you mean. Can you describe the steps you are doing, what you expect to happen and what behavior you are seeing instead? Goblins are in the SRD, so you should be able to pull them onto the map without issue. If you have not purchased the Monster Manual, they will not have a token, of course.
HI Keithcurtis, This is what I do: 1. Select a map where I want to put the tokens on 2. Open compendium, select category 'Monsters', filter on name 'Goblin' 3. Drag 'Goblin' (MM1) to map 4. A token comes on the map, but not the token belonging to a Goblin (as shown in the compendium) but as a silhouette of a person What I did (and seems to work for a bit): - delete the Goblin character in the monster list and redo, now it shows The problem is however, that they are all linked to 1 character, so if I put on 10, they all lose HP when I adjust one. What am I missing here (sorry, still relatively new here)

Dajur. I can't answer about the goblin (MM1) token being a person other than ask did you purchase the Monster Manual on Roll20? The other bit about all the tokens losing hit points is that it sounds like they are not setup as mooks. Take a look at linking tokens to journals . Sorry that I can't help more than that.

I think I have a solution for you. If you have previously placed a goblin in a game and it lost its token image, then any time you drag in a goblin from anywhere (except via the Transmogrifier), it will only place a copy of the one already resident in your campaign. This is actually the desired behavior. For instance if you have modified your goblins so that they use spears instead of scimitars, you don't want the Monster Manual overriding your changes. Try deleting the goblin entry in your journals tab (there may be more than one if you have done a lot of experimenting). Then drag in a new copy from the MM. It should come in with its token intact. As for the other issue (unique HP totals) follow Pat's linked advice. I made a video to describe the process as well, it is linked at the bottom of that page.
Thx to the both of you, both solved my problem!

Fortunately, they were both commonly-encountered problems. :D
