Are you still looking for a group? I have a group that just started playing on Mondays and, with 5 people, we are full up but I'd be happy to keep you in mind if one or more of them drop out?
Yeah, what time are you running it?

Sorry for the late reply. We meet at 1930 UK time on Mondays. As I said, we are full with 5, but I'm happy to keep you in mind.
Yeah, pretty much perfect actually.

Hello, We've had an opening and was wondering if you were interested in joining? Looking for someone in your timezone, in their mid-20's or older and can commit to meeting on Friday nights (I've changed that from Monday in my earlier post). Let me know. We're about 1/2 - 3/4 through our first adventure in a 9 adventure campaign (a pre-published set) that I'm using while I work on my own campaign in my spare (HA!) time.

That's okay, the age isn't that important. Far more important to have an interested player that's for sure! We had to end our last session about a month ago halfway through a battle. We haven't met since then for various reasons and, in the meantime, two of our regulars dropped out. If you are interested in taking over one of their characters (a Female Elven Ranger Assassin), you could jump right into the current adventure. If that doesn't interest you, then we'll have to find some way of gracefully introducing your character to the existing adventure or start you out at the beginning of the next. I'm going to estimate that it will take about 3 or 4 more sessions to finish this adventure. If you did take the existing character your still more than welcome to retire her at the end of the adventure and roll your own for the next, whatever suits you. If you do roll your own character, feel free to use the Crafty material from the Adventure Companion or the Call to Arms supplements. I can supply you with some details about the campaign world to help create a character as well as some information to help pick interests. I think we'll be meeting next Friday (the 11th) at 1900 UK time if that suits. We've been using text chat rather than microphones thus far. I'm assuming you are comfortable with English? Thanks for your continued interest!
HECK YEAH I'M IN! I'll make my own character and I am actually willing to wait a bit.

Sounds good, let me know what kind of character you want to create. Here's the invite. The world is very tolkien-esque, so only the standard fantasy characters are good choices (Dwarf, Elf, Human, Pech). Some would be neutral (Saurian, Unborn) and would need a good backstory and others are not good ideas (Ogre, Giant, Drake, Goblin, Orc) and would need a great backstory. Here's the invite link: https://app.roll20.net/join/363993/j9cgyg. On the main page is a forum where I've started a post about what's happened with the players so far. We're not really that far into this adventure. Also, here's a BUNCH of information answering questions that the other players asked me at the beginning that should help you get the flavor of the campaign. Glad to have you on board! Oh, before all the information below, the existing characters are: 3 Dwarven Cousins (all male) Olmar Thunderstone, Archer Soldier Balin Thunderheart, Fighter Captain (and his Uncle Orin, using the Personal Lieutenant feat) Magnus Redstone, Merchant Explorer 2 Characters about to 'retire' belonging to our two players that have exited: Male Human Adept Mage with Draconian Heritage (another new player will take over this one until the end of the adventure) Female Elven Ranger Assassin. Since no one is taking her over, I predict a sudden demise is going to happen. The other new player I *think* is going to create a Male Elven swordsman of some kind. Not sure, yet. I will probably make him a relation of our soon-to-be-dead Elven Assassin as that makes a good excuse for him to enter the party and join up with them, in order to gain vengeance against those that killed his sister. I like the drama :-) Let me know what kind of character you want and we'll create a backstory for you to get you involved with the party. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Ridgeline Mountains separate the Northern Realms of Man from the western outpost of the Dwarven Empire, and what most adventurers from the Lower Lands know as the Lands of the Lost War. From the town of Northpoint, the Jagged Reaches can be seen, a group of tall mountains that form the western part of the Ridgeline chain. Here is my response to Vastator's questions about the setting (note that the bit about how it starts is now over): To try and answer your question about the setting... The setting is a standard fantasy world of adventurers setting off to seek their fortune. The area is a temperate area of light forests and low mountains to the north. Each character is a nascent adventurer who might have a little local experience and is moving on or is leaving home for the first time to seek glory. Each will start out traveling on their own and will meet up on the road (I have an encounter hook in mind to gather the party together). So, each character should be prepared for traveling on a sparse wilderness road on their own initially. If it suits their character background, two characters can travel together if they want to (possibly they are brothers, master/slave, or some other relationship). First, there's been some problems in my other gaming group around XP, so I thought I should say something about how we'll handle XP. There won't be any XP , everyone will just level up at an appropriate point in the story. If there are extreme absences we'll figure out if that character should be delayed a level up for a session or two, but I doubt that'll need to happen. Seems like that's a pretty common house-rule from what I can tell. Again, the Adventure Companion published by Crafty is open to use. If you need a copy, I ca supply. So, campaign qualities: Miracles, yes! Also, the additional Miracle quality Beneficent Universe, yes! Sorcery, yes! I've read through all the adventure modules and I'd describe this as a 'medium' fantasy campaign with touches of high. Magic isn't a substitute for modern technology, for example, so it's not THAT common. One thing to keep in mind is that this whole series is referred to as 'Old School Fantasy', so it's fairly Tolkien-esque with magic being more common then in LoTR. With 'Old School Fantasy' in mind, on to race selection: Readily available as PCs: Pech, Dwarves (diaspora), Elves, Humans as well as any half-variants of these. Also, rootwalkers. Dwarves are a bit of a diaspora in this world because of the old Dwarven Empire I mentioned that's fallen ages ago (did I mention Tolkien influence here??). Only difference is that it was in a battle with Giants and not Dragons. Races that should be off limits: Orcs, Giants, Drakes, Ogres. No one in the lands the characters are going to be traveling through will like seeing these guys. I might be convinced otherwise for specific cases with good character back-story, but it's probably not worth it. I don't see these modules occupying more than, say, 20(?) sessions of play. Hopefully, my Strangers... campaign will be ready to go by then? Races that could be allowed with some exceptional back-story and won't bring out villagers with pitchforks but will raise eyebrows: Unborn and Saurian. There are only 3 'countries' here: The Lower Reaches, the Midlands, and the Northlands. Super simple. All the characters should be from the Lower Reaches. The Reaches and the Northlands are separated by the Midlands where there are not a few marauding humanoids. Here is a list of cities/villages/locales in the Lower Reaches where the characters might come from, for the purposes of trying to pick interests. Some items of information everyone will know about and I'll give out on the first day and/or as they become pertinent. Cool? Ridgeline mountains The Lost War (a moment in history, not a place) Jagged Peaks Dragon Pass (part of the Ridgeline mountains) The Northlands Lower Reaches Red Root River Northpoint (village) Midlands Hopewell (city) Emerald Hills (region in the Midlands) Jaskers (village) Steelport (city) Enclosing Sea Enclosure (city) Cavaliers Landing (city) Humfree (village) Fell Swamp (any Saurians will be from here) Silver Vines, city of Elves (any Elves will probably be from here unless the player wants them to be from elsewhere) In addition to allowed PC races, there are several humanoid races/creatures in the area that someone might take as a detailed interest: Orcs, Goblins, Ogres, Giants, Gnolls, Troglodytes, and any simple Undead This should be enough to choose interests that are centered in the campaign worlds environment. Of course, there's always generic choices too! My character literally had 'High Society People' and 'Plants (swamp fungus & herbs)' as two of his. Not sure how you might have done this in your past campaigns? I find interests hard to nail down and choose effectively.
Getting a not authorized from your link there Dan.

Hmmm.... I've heard of that problem. Checking the forums.... try this one, I think there is an errant period ('.') in the link above. I'll keep looking thru the forums. https://app.roll20.net/join/363993/j9cgyg

Ah, yes. Shouldn't have put a period at the end of the sentence, it messed up the link. Curse my grammar! X-D
I am going to PM my character concept, I'll make the char over the week here.
What languages are there by the way? just the standard Common, Elvish and so on or?
