[LFP] [5e] West Marches Homebrew Campaign

Welcome to the Black Sands of Rahku'ut, a mysterious country surrounded by a sea of sand. In the midst of this desert lies the city of Absou; an oasis sheltering it’s citizens from whatever may lie outside its secure walls. This is a West Marches campaign, meaning that players decide amongst themselves when to play instead of adhering to a strict schedule. Your actions have consequences and the city reacts to events in semi-real time. There is no overarching story; you are not the chosen one. You must set your own goals and take opportunities when they come in order to survive the unforgiving wasteland. What you choose to do, or not to do, can have a lasting impact on the fate of your character. What To Expect - Increased difficulty and unique challenges. If you are new to D&D, please take this into account before joining. Flexible and frequent sessions. In theory, as long as your proposed time works with everyone, you can play several games back-to-back.  Some mature themes. While not guaranteed to pop up in every session, our group prefers players who are 18 and over due to this possibility. A friendly table focused on providing an interesting and fresh take on the classic 5e formula. What We Require- Basic knowledge of D&D. Our DMs will be happy to help you with any questions, but this is not a campaign designed for brand new players. English voice communication through Discord. Text RP is hardly used during sessions (if at all) and most of our players only know English. Mature players who are able to communicate effectively. Our groups consist of people from all different backgrounds and we want players to feel welcomed and respected. If you are interested in joining, leave a comment here or privately message me so that we can invite you to the Discord server!
Hello I'm interested in joining.  My previous campaigns have ended and I'm looking to join another one. University is about to start for me so the only times I'm open to play unfortunately are Wednesday evenings, and any time Friday and Saturday EST (I live in GMT+8 but I find that majority of people here are from NA). I've played 5e for 3 years now, enjoy mature/dark themes and honestly I'm too afraid of being judged myself to judge anyone else. Severe social anxiety... go figure...
I would love to join a game like this. I have never played 5e, but am very well read, have listened to hours of critical role, and have been tabletop/rpg/d20 player for 20+ years. I have a character I've been working on for no particular reason other than to engage myself in theorycraft and creative writing, and would be thrilled to throw them into something like this.
