Composite tokens - e.g. ships in Saltmarsh

Ship character sheets have multiple components, e.g. Helm, Ballista, Sails, Hull Each component has an AC and HPs. Being able to select and display sub-elements without always grouping and ungrouping would be great for better naval combat. Players can then see each component with name and health bar, etc as per token settings and act accordingly. Even adding "regroup" as a token option would be amazing!
Current workaround: - Make each component a separate token, select them and and group to move as a group. - Ungroup to edit/interact with a specific element (e.g. bring up the character sheet). - Note: Unable to interact with elements while grouped. Difficult to pick Ship/PC/NPC tokens out of the melee of layered tokens...
I like this idea. Being able to parent tokens to other tokens without having to group/ungroup would be very convenient.
