It is now late August. Initiative rolls are made by the party inside the protection of the magical cube of force’s, force field, which expended 6 of 36 daily charges from the cube and will last 10 minutes. The Aboleth continues to flail at the party only to keep hitting upon the force field emanation. Maevis the bard, scores a hit with 1 of 3 magical +1 shell shurikens of crushing causing 3 hit points damage but none from the magical crushing effect this round due to making a saving throw vs paralyzation. Xillicien the magic-user, cast Melf’s Minute Meteor at the aboleth but it makes it’s saving throw vs spells and dodged it! There is 6 rounds & 6 meteors left on the spell’s duration. Balen the bard jester, decides to Taunt and Tease the Aboleth. The aboleth rolls a saving throw vs paralyzation at -3 on the roll, rolling a 3 and needing a 10, failing the save. The taunting and teasing thus immediately tries to physically strike at Balen and will continue to do so, so long as Balen continues to taunt and tease! Grax Ironcloak, fires off a couple arrows with his short bow at short range of 6 to 50 ft, and both hit the aboleth for 7 total damage! Coal the ranger, fires off 3 arrows with his magical +1 Foeseeker long bow at point blank range of 6 to 30 ft, dealing 23 total damage! This drops the aboleth, it’s body now half on the pathway and half in the river! Everyone now sees where the river actually is, spotting the path 70 ft away, continuing on towards  the waterfall covered path, that leads up to a dark opening. Both Coal & Grax roll to see how many arrows where recovered, which save as metal vs crushing blow. Coal recovers 2 of 3 arrows, Grax recovers 1 of 2 arrows, in about 3 minutes of time total. Quintolos the half-elf cleric/magic-user, head pops above the surface of the water where he was originally told to stay by the aboleth. The charm the aboleth placed upon him now broken. Quintolos tells the party that the aboleth changed him in a way that he can only breath water and that his skin was turned into a mucousy membrane. Note that Quintolos is wearing the elven cloak of the Formene, which gives him the ability to breath underwater as well when he pulls the hood over his head. Coal Blackstone tells Quintolos to swim over to the waterfall and check it out. Quintolos returns with the following items found at the base of the fall: A silver brooch (1,000 gp), three discs of jade (500 gp each) and a gold encased incense burner (900 gp) Quintolos also finds the 2 magical +1 shell shurikens of crushing that missed the aboleth. Sheila the cleric of Ra, tries casting Neutralize Poison then Dispel Magic upon Quintolos to rid of the mucous membrane skin but does not work. Quintolos thinks he will need at least a cure disease spell to rid him of it, but no one in the party has it. Seven minutes have gone by that Quintolos was out of the water when he begins to not be able to breath and noticed his skin was drying up so he goes and dunks back into the river. After some more discussion with the party as he stays in the water and takes an occasional dip to breath, it is decided that he will do some investigating while in the river, as the party decides to head out of the main cave entrance. After going a little over 200 feet they are back outside and Coal the ranger, has a look around and finds that there is a little used path head west from their location. They follow the path until they reach a new clearing, of which Coal notes there appears to be very little activity here as any tracks he spots is worn. Overgrown Area description: At the end of the ravine is a small cave mouth. The area is heavily overgrown. Lianas, ferns, brilliant orchids, and bright yellow flowers hang down around the entrance. There are many nannies and nooks in the rocks in this area. Rivulets tumble through these, making the ground damp and muddy. Cassandra the witch, Coal & Sheila are up ahead of the party and get to within 20 feet of the small cave mouth, when 3 yellow musk zombies, come out from behind the rock outcroppings, to attack them from behind. Initiative rolls are made for combat which will start next session against the yellow musk zombies! It is now 5 hours into day 19 on the Isle of dread. And that ends the live gaming session for the night until next time!   Number of Sessions for current Adventure Module: 5th Session for I1: Dwellers of the Forbidden City 10/06/2019 89 sessions for “Isle of the Dread: Parts 1-4”: 10/11/2017 – 10/06/2019
