EDIT: Would prefer (but not require) that you be in a USA timezone. I don't want to get into TZ issues with communicating outside of sessions. Hi all, I'm looking for 1-2 PCs to join my Dragon Heist game. I have a friend with the DM DND Beyond so you can use that for char gen if that appeals to you. The group already has a hexblade warlock, a dex fighter, and the third is debating str fighter / paladin, so we're in need of maybe one or two of the following: a bard, rogue, druid, cleric, etc.. There's also a wiki being set up for the game; not much there right now, but here's the same LFG info you'll find below. https://texasxtreme.com/wiki/doku.php?id=wiki:wdh:lfg You can email your char sheet application, or head over to our [Mod:Server Link Removed] and chat. There's also a group text between me and the other PCs that once you're in the game we'd add you into it. EDIT: Sorry mods, didn't realize a Discord link was prohibited. If anyone wants the discord link, PM me. Basics Platform : Roll20 for VTT and Discord for voice; I also have availability to a private Dokuwiki if we want to create a wiki for the game Rules : Dungeons and Dragons 5e Module : Waterdeep Dragon Heist, when finished, options include transitioning into STK, TOA, or homebrew. Depends on what the party wants to do. Number PCs : 4 to 6, for sessions where DM doesn’t think it absolutely necessary for all 6 PCs to be there, we run anytime at least 4 PCs and the DM can be present. Time : 9pm to midnight Central Time, at least twice a month but preferably up to 4 times a month if it fits people's schedules, typically on Friday/Saturday/Sunday evenings. Goal is to have shorter sessions but at regular intervals. Equivalent Movie Rating : PG-13 to R (no rape, no sex role play, no racist/sexist/homophobic stuff, but violence and cussing). Every player and the DM has the right to say, “Hey, that’s crossing the line or making me uncomfortable” on this topic. Repeated abuse by the perpetrator will be grounds for getting kicked out of the game. I’m an experienced 5e DM looking for a new game; I intend to start with Waterdeep Dragon Heist but remixed heavily to fix plot inconsistencies in the adventure as written. If you’ve read or already played Dragon Heist, this isn’t the game for you even though I’m remixing. Who Should Apply Players 18 or older Players who won’t get drunk and ruin the game for everyone Players who like role play and silly voices Players who don’t mind a DM breaking the rules in favor of their fellow PCs for the rule of “cool” Players who want to actually run a “heist” Players who can stay focused and at their computer during combat so the game does not drag Players who will help the DM keep a campaign journal on a private wiki for the players Character Creation Rules Level 1 start No rolling for HP, average HP only on subsequent levels Variant Human allowed Optional Feat Rule allowed No rolling for stats; 27-point point buy per the Player’s Handbook please. Rulebooks allowed: Any official hard-cover print source. No third-party, no DM's Guild material, and no Unearthed Arcana. Backgrounds from Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide does not count as the “one other official source” but other character rules in it do count as the plus one. If you want to be a Noble, there are many noble families in Waterdeep we can pick from Faction Agent background from SCAG is allowed too No homebrew character rules please. Reflavoring / reskinning existing abilities for roleplay purposes is encouraged (i.e. running a cleric whose spells all manifest as tiny contraptions made by the cleric), changing mechanics and the underlying math not allowed. Good or Neutral PCs please No Drizzt clones Drow / monster races allowed, but there will be significant social / role play consequences to playing such a race, and I’ll need a detailed backstory as to how you’ve come to be in Waterdeep. Please be a beautiful snowflake with backgrounds instead of race choice; this isn’t We Be Goblins Waterdeep edition. But, I also encourage if you have a PC concept beyond “Oooh, a goblin would be fun to play”, please feel free to apply with it. No flying tieflings Starting equipment: per the PHB plus one potion of healing (2d4+2) plus one non-magical trinket (you can roll or choose, provided no 2 PCs have same trinket) from Player’s Handbook pg 159 that you need to write a paragraph on why it’s important to your PC Note: the PCs are all already working together as a group. Session 1 of the game will start literally as the party, together as a group, walks through the front door of The Yawning Portal to meet a friendly contact there. The PCs once accepted to the game, are expected to meet on Discord at least once before Session 1 to discuss a mutual background / reason they are all working together. Where to Apply You can email your application to applications at texasxtreme dot com. I’d love to get a group together and get the first session scheduled mid-October maybe?
