the wold is being plagued by a strange phenomenon from many many years ago. All living things, not moving or in motion, die. Many lucky enough to be on a train or some other form of motion had to rebuild from there. Dwarves abandoned the people who had let them ride on their trains for many years, to live in their new spiraling cities. The elves created massive walking groves, leaving everyone else confined to trains or crawling cities and towns. Many live in fear of leaving these places but some do not and that's where you come in What I'm looking for: People who are not easily offended or thin skinned (there's not really going to be offensive stuff, I just don't want people fighting or interrupting the session over small stuff) People who are about having fun with the game. people who are on time, can stay awake the entire session, and have a consistent schedule what to expect: I'm hoping to run a fun if a little brutal steam punk game about people on a train trying to survive and maybe solve the mystery of what is causing the strange phenomenon. General rules: if you do not move or are not in motion, you die. Spell component pouches do not exist, spell casters will have acquire the components. Only Sorcerers my have Eschew Materials (and feats like it). (players wanting to start with components, just let me know and we will work out how much you have) Wizards consume material components and do their somatic components during prep meaning that wizards do not need to have a hand free, need to gesture, or carry their components on them to cast a spell. When counter spelling, the spell is not dispelled instead it is reflected back at the caster or some other object in the room. a counter spell may be done at any time even when its not your turn as long as you are aware of the spell. A counter succeeds or fails based off of an opposed concentration check unless an opposing spell is used (i.e. chill metal and heat metal) then the counter is an automatic success. Spells used for a successful counter are not consumed. You only need to use a spell with a spell slot of the same level to counter spell. All characters have the run and endurance feats as bonus feats and increase their land speed by 10. spells that make food, objects, or provide nourishment in anyway (other than water) do not exist. Luck system: when a player rolls a nat 1 they gain a point of luck. This luck can be spent to re-roll any roll (other that the roll that gave the luck point) and if the re-roll results in a nat 1, they do not gain a luck point, but may re-roll until the result is a number other than one. If you roll an eight or below five times (not in a row), you get a luck point. 5 points can be spent for an automatic nat 20 though this effect cannot be used on crafting or knowledge skills There are no revives (breath of life is fine though) you may only have one buff spell at a time (spells that summon or make a suit of armor and weapons or effects that put a buff on weapons and armor do not count towards this) (I will note these are subject to change in case of abuse) character creation rules: no third party unless cleared by me first 20 rp races. No races that are not considered living. (though 'im open to custom, races with unlisted rp, or stranger races if you have a good reason for playing them.) 20 point by Hp is maxed every level all characters have a minimum of 4 skill points per level regardless of int mod or class Half your total skill bonus to rolls (rounded down), also skill increasing feats and items do not exist other than tools. Automatic Bonus Progression https://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/other-rules/unchained-rules/automatic-bonus-progression/ Elephant in the room's feat tax http://michaeliantorno.com/feat-taxes-in-pathfinder/ all players may start with “ one ” 1000gp item, any gold not spent on this item is lost. A fully loaded steam bike may be be chosen as this starting item or a crate of level 1 potions of your choice (crate has 25 total). (its stats will be detailed at session 0) If your interested: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/169601/story-of-the-rails pm with your discord, and a character concept (but please no backstory, we will workshop that either during the interview). Afterwards there will be a interview (at a time that is convenient for you, I like to interview players before inviting them, things go smoother that way) after that and some questions, I will see about getting you an invite. if you have any questions, post below. Current comp: samurai face, a style based character, and a bodyguard tank.
