Stuck in Loading Screen

suddenly I´m unable to get in any of my games. I stuck in loading screen and can´t go forward. Can you help me? I have no idea what to do.

I am sorry to hear that you are having this issue with accessing your game.

There is currently an issue with using both Global Illumination and Advanced Fog of War at the same time. As such, if you are the Creator/GM of the game, you can use a second account and promote yourself to GM to verify that only one of them are enabled on the pages. You can also promote a player to do this as well. 

If you are still having this issue after following the above information, please carefully work through the following steps of our guide to Solving Technical Issues:

• Step 1: Make sure to use the right browser
  • Please check if these issues persist when using both Chrome and Firefox.
• Step 2: Ensure that there are no extensions/addons interfering with Roll20
  • Please disable all add-ons/extensions.
• Step 3: Clear your cache

Lol, update: it suddenly started working without me doing anything.
Probably some server died for a couple of minutes, don't know

I have been experiencing the same issue today. I've had other issues as well, but that is for another thread.
I am using Firefox, I've tried disabling and removing all of the extension, I've tried using Google Chrome instead, I've tried using Incognito mode (which works sometimes - it is very inconsistent).

I've tried to use a different computer (my laptop), on the off chance this is a problem with the Wi-Fi, I connected my computer to the router through a cable and it still didn't work (still stuck on loading).

I've cleared my Cache (ran CCleaner), reset my computer and ran a Malware sweep. I am also using the google DNS for my connection.

Lastly I've also tried entering different games and this is an issue in all of my games (even those I don't GM).

Step 4: I am experiencing two main issues using Roll20, though I believe they are two different issues, one I've been experiencing for weeks (disconnection from server at random intervals), and one is recent as of today (being stuck on loading).

As I said I am using Firefox v69.0.3 but the problem exists on Chrome as well when I try.

Windows 10, Javascript enabled, Microsoft anti-virus is the only one active, right now only ad-block is enabled but roll20 domain is white-listed.

I was also able to load games until an hour ago. I have 3 computers here. Tested with chrome, firefox, opera. Cleared caches.
no chance. I cant join any game right now, no matter if I DM it or not. Its always stuck on the loading screen.

This is horrible. We have a session in 2h and if this doesnt get sorted out, im screwed.

Ok I will go through the steps. I tested it in Firefox and Chrome aswell. I didn´t change anything from last time, so that can´t be the problbem, can it? I tested it on my laptop and my PC, no difference.

I´m no pro user, so I have only standard fog of war and no illumination, so this can´t be the issue either. I have no clue how to continue? But thanks for any help :)

Tried on my wife's computer aswell. No chance. this definitely is a roll20 server issue and not a personal one. I even tried edge and internet explorer.

For the devs to be able to provide assistance, the more information we have the better. As such, please be sure to follow all of the above information to help troubleshoot this issue. Please be sure to provide all of the requested information in Step 4 as well. This will include the names of the affected games and providing us a full Console Log.

Same Problem @ my End. Cant join any Game on my Account. Loading Screen stay black. Nice! 

I am sorry, but I also have the problem and it has nothing to do with it being a new game/campaing or not, because they all stuck at loading and sometimes they work, sometimes they are utterly stuck and cant do anything about it.

Same here i cant load into any games. With 1 exeption. Sometimes a Recently joined curse of Stradh Campaign does work.

Me and my entire group got the problem that we can only join a game with much luck, moste time we stuck in the loading screen. I would really much appriciatived if your Roll20 team would come forward with an explanation to the situation. Sorry, but i for my part pay money to use your service and this login issues are now happening for me, at least, the last 24 hours!

Having the same problem, can't open any of the games I've created. I don't have dynamic lighting as I'm not a pro user and these are month-long games, so not sure why that would a problem. I can load into games where I'm just a player.

Any updates on this issue?

I am having the same problem, reloading several times might get you into the game but it isn't really reliable.

I just created a game. Cannot load it.

I am not going to clear my cache or uninstall any addons. Yesterday Roll20 worked. Today it does not

Having the same issue since yesterday. Until an hour ago I couldn't join any game whether I was GM or not. Now I at least can join games where I'm not GM again. But I really need to access those games as GM and not only as player. Problem persists since about 30 hours now and everything went fine before yesterday. I tried deactivating every addon and even another browser (with no addons installed at all) - still stuck in loading screen.

I am also from Germany, so maybe that is the problem indeed. There are no enhancements/scripts in my game (not a pro users so I can't install scripts anyway). All games I created are affected, for instance. My players are able to connect to them just fine.

Im from Germany too and so are all of my Players. We dont use any Addons or something. Unable to load Game with Firefox and Chrome. My players have the same Problem. Even new Games dont load.

Same problem here and also from Germany. Tried to load my game via Firefox and Chrome and had no success.

After i read the comments i used a VPN and tried to "enter the site" from ireland. Using Firefox i was able to load my game multiple times yesterday evening and today morning.

I found a somewhat solution. If you're loading the campaign and it takes too long just reload the site. At some point the chat will appear and you'll know you are in.

I solved joining with the integrated Opera's VPN. it's definitely a regional problem here in Germany

I am not in Germany either (although close geographically) and am encountering the same issue, but yes using a VPN has solved the problem which would mean it is a regional issue. Perhaps local server hosts for roll20 are having an issue? Not exactly sure how all this works.

I'm facing the same issue here, also from Germany.

But if I connect to the dev server everything works fine. The games there load immediately! 

Hey, I am having a problem with one of my player been able to get inside a game. Any idea whats going on?

Having the same problem here in germany. Console gives the same errors as already posted by Shahar L..

Interestingly it didn't work at first (at 5:00 pm UTC+2), then worked for a few minutes (around 5:40 pm UTC+2) and now isn't working again. No mods installed and tried it with different browsers. Edge, IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera.

I'm also having the same problem, also in Germany. Same errors as Shahar L. No Addons, both in Firefox and Chrome.

It does work intermittently, if I reload a few times. If I see the chat I know it will load. 

same here, pretty much:
1) stuck at the black screen with the Roll20 logo and the "Loading..." text.
2) I started having this problem a few days ago already.
3) sometimes the game does start but it seems to be a 1 in 15 chance.
  * when it does open normally, everything else works fine (I think).

... at least I am not the only one experiencing this problem.


Something that might be noteworthy:
In firefox and chrome I get the following error message within the browser console, 

ReferenceError: soundManager is not defined

To try and fix this I already did the following:
1) erased the game chat log.
2) cleaned my browser cache.
3) disabled most extensions. 
4) tried opening my Roll20 games with firefox 
  * this resulted in the same problem.
  * chrome is the browser I use for roll20 normally.


Other Data:
* using windows 10, 64 bit
* logging in from Germany
* using Kaspersky total security
* Chrome Version: 77.0.3865.120 (Official Build) (64-bit)
* just like a user stated in a post above mine, I am working on character sheets currently.

I have the same issue as shown above from gui8312, in different games, mine and from others, from different accounts with different game settings, loaded with different browsers and computers, with and without AV suites. I have to reload the game many times until it loads.

After further investigation, we believe that these loading issues may be isolated to games that have used various VTT enhancement extensions/addons (VTT Enhancement Suite, etc.).

Thank you for your effort, but no it isn't.

Edit2: No chance with Chrome and Safari, but with Firefox 70.0 (64-bit) it loads on every 5th try I'd say. On the other tries, the javascript is equally broken/incomplete.

It does end unexpectedly.

I can reproduce it with every test game so far, with or without fog of war/advanced fog of war/illumination.

Hi Devs,

i encountered the same problem: infinite black loading screen (the chat-bar is not loading as well).

First encountered on 17th of October 2019 and ever since. Problem exists on all games. My own games as well as games i joined as a player.

I tried at different days from different computers / Laptops in different networks. R20-games are not working.

All games are older games, one running more than a year now.

Computers are running Windows10, Firefox (i also tried chrome) - latest version

Anti-Virus: 2 use Windows Defender, one uses Kaspersky.

I also have to mention that i first encountered the problem on thursday evening in mid-game-session. I was kicked out of the game (assuming server connection lost) and had the problem since then. There was clearly no change in settings, antivirus or browser versions.
