While the Empire is officially at peace, the courts of the Great Clans and the hungry armies of ronin bandits know this is a pleasant fiction. When chaos erupts in a forgotten corner of Rokugan, the Emerald Magistrate is forced to take unprecedented steps to restore order. Now a band of young samurai, trusted only because of their lack of experience and modest authority, find themselves thrust into a great game that will determine the fate of the entire province. The hungry eyes of the Great Clans look greedily upon the sparse defenses of this untouched land, while in the shadows the forces of bandits, cultists, and even fouler things plot to destroy the fabric of society. In the space of one year's time a senior bureaucrat from the Imperial Families will decide who shall rule the province in the name of the Emperor, but the Tournament of Purposeful Harmony holds many opportunities for even those who will never sit sleep in the high chambers of the castle... and many dangers for the ambitious, the careless, and those cursed by fate. In such a place, can one truly uphold the tenets of Bushido? Edge of Bushido is a beginner-friendly, Kingmaker-style campaign using the Legend of the Five Rings 5th Edition system. Players take on the roles of samurai in service to their clans and the imperial magistrate, finding themselves thrust into the center of a political maelstrom where they will have to use cunning and courage in equal measure to survive. The setting is *very* heavy on the lore of Rokugan and roleplaying Bushido, and while there will be plenty of opportunities to spill blood it is equally important to understand the culture and belief systems of the empire.
