Lower End Version of the Game

I am an army officer currently in Afghanistan on deployment. We were very excited to hear about this program that would let my friends and I play even in my absence. The problem came when I went to sign into the game as a player. As one might imagine, the internet connection in Afghanistan isn't all that fast or reliable. I was told there was some sort of flash animation or video that played when one signed on. I just don't think my connection can handle it. I was wondering if there was some way that another version that didn't have the videos and flash animation on it that would allow me to go right to the game, a sort of "basic" version if you will for a lower end connection. If there is anything you all can do to help so we can continue on in our game I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
You might want to simply try and join a game, to be honest. I'm not entirely knowledgeable just yet, but I think after joining one game, you can get rid of the pop up video. If not, I wouldn't think it would be impossible to 'x' out the video before it starts to load. It's very possible to get rid of the video as far as I've seen. So my suggestion amounts to try it anyways and see what happens. Not a great suggestion, but it's the best I've got, personally, haha. Hopefully someone can come along with an even better suggestion soon enough.
As Drew said, I would expect that the video/voice chat would be a bit laggy, but you can turn that off (check out the Settings menu, far-right tab on the right-hand side, when you are in-game). But other than the initial load time (which could take a bit depending on how many art assets are in your game), the tabletop portion itself is really, really lightweight in terms of Internet connection utilization. So I would anticipate that it should work fine for you. Let me know if not, and we'll see what we can do. And stay safe over there!
