Nocturna was being led to the brig where the rest of the group was contained. The first thing that she noticed was that the agents had changed their uniforms from Viper to that of PRIMUS agents. By the time she reached the brig Paladin had managed to beat down his cell door. Piscean spoke to the group using the PA system. She wanted to have a sit down to talk, Paladin accepted under the condition that all the prisoners be released. She agreed and the group met another prisoner named Apex. The guards led the group to the dining hall where Piscean and other SPBs (Super Powered Beings) were waiting. Only Piscean herself was seated. She explained she was not breaking any laws, the employees engaged in cosplay rotating uniforms every week or so, and claimed that she was Cynthia Von Doom, daughter of Victor Von Doom, princess of Latveria. The two factions then did a fair amount of verbal sparring where they learned that Amora, her crabs, and her followers had already left. Piscean claimed she did not know they were wanted for questioning before they departed and blamed the Brooklyn Brigade for trespassing instead of approaching in a civilized manner. She suggested that if they had she might have been able to help them in their pursuits. The group agreed to leave peacefully but as they did Piscean took Nocturna aside and whispered in her ear. “Tell your friends I am Dr. Doom's daughter and I have a long memory for those who cross me and and I have 11 brothers and sisters. We will balance the scales when the time is right.” Piscean also confessed that she did not have their sub destroyed, it was waiting for them where they left it. As they left they noticed the diesel sub that had been docked with SAMURAI was gone. For the moment they were at a dead end so Paladin and Shifter talked to their new fellows to see if any one them wanted to join the Brooklyn Brigade? Grimwalker declined. He decided he would rather try to go live a normal life…somewhere. Apex was eager to join, while Prime wanted to know more about the remuneration the group received. Paladin set up a meeting for all those interested in joining to meet with Cassandra Clemens, the group’s sponsor on the following Monday. Nocturna contacted Barker and he was okay with her joining the Brooklyn Brigade but was not okay with the idea of her going to the movies (or any kind of date) with Shifter. Prime (while still on the sub) hacks the Department of Defense satellite servers to search for the Cold Water Crab Cover. She knew she was detected so she set up an account for view only access then she quickly bailed from the contact. She can always log back in to view the satellite photos at a later date. Prime severed the connection before the DoD kicked her out. When the agencies that were giving the group support (including loaning them the Quarkstar IV submarine, which they learned was powered by baking soda) learned that a Von Doom was involved they cut their support immediately rather than invite a international incident with the ruling family of Latveria. The group decided it was finally time to go home to Brooklyn . Saturday and Sunday passed without incident. The group didn’t even notice the severe storm that raged over the city for both days. Wind gusts of 59 MPH and eight inches of rain buffeted the city but did little damage overall. Come Monday July 9 th the group read about how the recently returned Superman killed a couple of armed robbers as they fled the Metropolis PD in a high speed chase. He stopped their car by landing on it, crushing the occupants, then he just flew away. Paladin and the prospective new members arrive at Cassandra’s long island mansion and are shown in by Bruce. His ‘twin’ sister is serving Cassandra in the cabana (serving her lemonade). Cassandra lays out what the base pay would be, the benefits package, and the like. She then explains that in exchange their images would be used by the foundation to cover costs and (hopefully) generate a profit for their patrons (i.e. Cassandra and Prometheus Medical Technologies). She also told them that they would be expected to do public appearances from time to time to keep them in the public eye and help generate positive press for the team. The new members get provisional membership while Cassandra’s legal team. The newbies thought the mansion was the team’s headquarters. Cassandra had a minor freak-out and explained the team’s headquarters was in Brooklyn NOT her Long Island home. Bruce and Brucette were asked to drive the group to their base while Pearl Ivy, the Brigade’s Public Relations Agent, started working on the announcement of the new super heroes (assuming they pass the background check).
