D&D Compendium Purchases

I know this is probably answered elsewhere, but I am not quite understanding and want to make sure before I purchase. If I purchase a Plus Account, then any Compendium purchases I have as a DM, I can share with my players. Does this mean that when they create a character they have access on the players sheet for any of the source material I shared with them? Or is it more like they just have access to the material online. Example: I purchase the Players Handbook and share it. Do the players only get the information? or is it background, feats, etc. available on the Roll20 created character sheets? (Not looking at community created character sheets at this time)

There is a wiki page on how compendiums work: https://wiki.roll20.net/Compendium And a page on how various subscription levels affect sharing: https://wiki.roll20.net/Compendium_Sharing Basically, everything added by your purchases will be in the in-game compendium, available for drag/drop onto character sheets, and available in the charactermancer (assuming this is 5E, since you never said). How many people/games you can share it with is determined by your subscription level, but it is always available for you.
