Chrome WebRTC camera not displaying & not asking for permissions

In my Firefox, 3D dice rolls are abysmally laggy so I decided to try switching to Chrome to see if they were better, which they are enormously so. The problem is that, in Chrome, I don't get my camera and audio feed, the avatar just stays as the default image and I never get a prompt for permissions.

Thinking this might be a Chrome issue I went over to http://tokbox.com/opentok/quick-start/demo.html to test it. It asked for permission, I allowed and it worked immediately, so it seems to be a bug. Here are my specs:

OS Type X11
OS Version Linux x86_64 (Mint 13)
Browser Type Chrome
IP Address [removed by moderator]
Javascript Enabled Yes
Cookies Enabled Yes
Color Depth 24
Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080
Browser Window Size 1920 x 993
Flash Version 13.0.-1
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/34.0.1847.116 Safari/537.36

When you were in roll20, did you get a message stating that roll20 wanted to use your camera and microphone? It should've looked something like this: https://wiki.roll20.net/WebRTC_Video_Chat

What I have is the following:

While tinkering trying to solve the problem, I found the "always allow" options for HTTPS sites and set them as below:

However, even after having the permissions set to always allow for media, the address bar still doesn't show the Camera icon:

I still don't have video at this point, which is perplexing because, as mentioned in my previous post, testing at the tokbox site works flawlessly every time.

Just to rule a simple thing out, when you say you don't get any feed, are you at least getting the avatar icons in roll20?

Just to confirm:

1) There is more than one person in the game when you are testing this -- it will only start up the video system and ask you for permission once more than one player is present.

2) Under the My Settings tab, Video Tech is set to WebRTC, not Flash or None.

3) Can you go to chrome://gpu in your browser and make sure that all of the hardware accleration is enabled? That should speed up any 3D Dice issues you were having.

I think Riley nailed it, I've been doing all solo testing to get the hang of it before I try to run a game with my players, I will see if I can get someone else to login and help me out with testing it!

You were also correct about the acceleration, I just checked and Chrome is properly detecting and enabling the hardware acceleration while Firefox is not, not sure how to correct the Firefox issue, but that's not your problem, I'll see if I can troubleshoot it later on.

Thanks for the help! I'll post back with the results of testing with more than just myself in there.

Yes, Riley has it nailed, the only issue now is that no one can hear me, but I will do some more troubleshooting on that before asking fro additional help, we can call this one closed! Thanks!
