Late May 2946 Waking in the middle of the night determined to retrieve the Ancient Gondorian coin he accidentally paid for their rooms with, Fosco set off a bungled (yes bungled!) attempt to rob Mirna proprietor of the Hungry Horse of Iach Celduin. Long story short, Fosco ran out of town on a stolen horse yelling “magic” and Radril and the rest of the crew were tossed out and asked never to return to the town. Ever. Fosco did manage to also empty the lock box making away with 12sp. Totally worth it! Reuniting in a wooded area south of town, Radril promptly smacked Fosco. The Party then proceed south across open country. As darkness was just coming on, they crossed Men Celduin (the round south) only to see an odd coach making its way south. Dwarves drove it, but it was gaudily painted and in a strange style. The Party met the coach occupants, two siblings named Viloric and Woedwyn. The two were wealthy (and slightly eccentric) merchants from Laketown dealing in high end merchandise. Turns out, they had medicine that could help Hirgond, but, after demonstrating its efficacy, they claimed it was already claimed by a buyer in Strayhold they seemed afraid to cross. In the end, Woedwyn proposed a trade. In exchange for the medicine, the Party would retrieve a set of books that a group of local bandits stole. They were described as having dark green binding and silver inlays. She also suggested that there would be other riches in the bandits’ lair, and that those treasures would be for the Party to keep. She only wanted the set of books for their sentimental value. In the end, the Party agreed, and Woedwyn sent along her recently hired chief guard, a female dwarf named Azkhala. Azkhala is to lead the PCs to the site and will guard their campsite, but Woedwyn was ordered her not to enter the castle. That job is for the Party. Together with Hirgond and Lorfalma, the siblings are holing up in a small settlement that is little more than a spec on the map as our ”heroes” head west towards the bandits castle... and 3rd level!
