[LF1P][D&D 5e][EST] Homebrew, low magic, story driven, rp heavy game saturdays 6pm-10pm

This is a long running campaign and the initial orientation will take a bit of time investment for character creation. We're currently looking for 1 more player for a story and rp driven  Heroic  campaign on Saturdays. Aspects of problem solving, explorations and combat will still be present. This campaign dives into the political aspects of the world (please do not discuss personal politics) and races have a heavy influence on psychology, culture and lore. As a limited race campaign, only Dwarves, Elves, Halflings, Humans, Genasi and Dragonborn are playable. With races having different psychology than humans in the base game, I wanted to fully explore this difference and how their culture and mindset affects them. This means you won't be able to play them as re skinned humans, but actually have to get into that mentality. The campaign is set on an island with a mixed climate of grassland and desert, with the group mainly in the desert. Thematically, it's similar to the Witcher series, drawing from some aspects of the world as inspiration. Sometimes there is no good choice, but only the best one you can make at the moment. The world is brutal, unforgiving and you, as both a player and character, have to be exceptional to rise above it. This is a more serious and darker campaign, where often times your characters have to be willing to make a personal sacrifice to achieve their goals. I want to emphasize the Heroic part, as good alignments are the most optimal way to play this. Evil is banned. Because RP is a main factor, there are multiple ways to accomplish your goals. Paths throughout the story are flexible and allow players freedom to choose how they want to approach an issue. Combat does not always have to end in conflict, rather players have the option to resolve it through speech or other methods. The world itself is moving along even if you aren't, so events can change or be missed depending on how you play. This is also a low magic campaign, however, there are homebrew items that supplement this. We are currently looking for a spell less ranger. I expect players to be respectful, engage in the story, not meta game to an extent, it happens), and to not slow down the game with arguments about ruling/other reasons.
Also looking for a homebrewed spell less version of a paladin.
What level are you starting at?
Hi there, I'm a 38 year veteran of D&D (playing since elves were a class...) and over half of that as GM. Been playing in and creating custom campaigns for most of that time.  I have very rarely played any classes or races outside of the PHB, so if you'd like to roll the character I'd play, I'm more than happy for that. I've been to more gaming cons in my life than I can count, so I'm used to taking a pre-made character and applying my own style to it. As for me, I'm in my 50s, married with a young son, so Saturday nights work good for me. Let me know if you have any other questions! - Zaodon
