Title explains it all. I am simply looking for a group to DM for. Exactly what setting and such I am up in the air about and the players can choose. I am very rusty for I have not ran a long term campaign in at least two years. So, expect me to be a bit off at first. Some notes about the game and my preferences as a DM. Stats are 4d6k3. Can use point buy if you don't like your rolls. Players start at level 1 Weekly games but I reserve the right to cancel a game at a moment's notice due to work, school, and life in general. I can run games either on Fridays at 10pm, or any preset time on the weekend. Preferably not Saturday nights but I can do that if need be. I plan for games to run for at least 3-4 hours but I am okay with doing longer if the players want and I have more content. In the future I may become available to run any day after 7pm depending on irl factors. My time zone is US Est I am willing to run any setting. It can be a premade setting, a few conversion settings I have, I can do my own homebrew we make as we go along, or I am even willing to play in your own homebrew world within reason. The only catch is that I am not spending money on a pdf for a setting. So if you want me to run something like Forgotten realms or something, you'll have to pay my way and I'll need time to read through it. This includes monster manuals. I don't have time to custom stat a whole book of monsters for a unique setting. Settings I have ran before: A homebrew using the Runescape world as a template (meaning not really Runescape just the map and location names), Midgard setting by kobold press, and the typical homebrew as you go sort of campaigns. I even temporary ran a Zelda campaign that didn't last long for player-side reasons. I am willing to run up to 5 players. May do 6 if you convince me. In any case, at least 4 players must show for the game to be ran. I am a premium member for Roll20 if that matters at all as far as player features are concerned. To give an idea what sort of stories I like to tell, I will list a decent amount of my inspirations below. Berserk, Manga Dark Souls The Legend Of Zelda (specifically 64 and gamecube era) Dante's Divine Comedy Various theological, existentialist, psychoanalytical, and occult texts They help me make moral dilemmas and lore. Various Japanese, Greek, Christian, and other elements of folklore, mythology, and cultural stories. H.P Lovecraft Alice in Wonderland Various Fairy Tales And many others I aim to run my games to be dangerous. I try not to hold punches unless I truly messed up on my part. In short, don't expect me to be the sort of DM that doesn't let you die because you seem to be the main character. Heroes don't always win. Just a fair warning so a player doesn't get disappointed that the character they spent hours writing a backstory for gets critted by a goblin at level 1 and dies. If it makes logical sense that an enemy will attack you while in a downed state, I will not hold back from them doing so. Fight smart. I do lean a bit more towards combat but I also enjoy RP when relevant . * We will use Discord for voice. Thus Discord and a mic are required. I could probably list many more facts about me as a DM, but don't want a gigantic list.
