Ch. 8: Tasloi Encountered!

Dungeon Master (GM): We left off having killed all of the spiders and i should note that after the smoke from the burned out webbing cleared you see various coinage now scattered along the floor.   Balen: And we had heard "yelping" up one of the corridors   Dungeon Master (GM): they appear to be various silver and gold coins   Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: is all the webbing gone now?   GreyWolfVT (Grax): anyone got a coin vac?   Dungeon Master (GM): Yes, the webbing is all burned away. Meanwhile you have the light source up ahead in the one passage which has now gone silent..   Maevis Silverleaf: Lets go try to find out who or what Yelped?   Dungeon Master (GM): i should note also it sounded like more than one being   Grax Ironcloak: anyone that doesn't fight two handed wise want to take the light source Parren had?   Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: Anyone want the venom sac's from this beast?   Dungeon Master (GM): all of them actually would have that sac   Xilicien: If it's gold, I believe a magnet should work, though I'm not 100% on that.   Maevis Silverleaf: Maevis can carry the light   Dungeon Master (GM): I do think i picked an actual poisonous spider for the large ones   Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: looks like a brown recluse   Dungeon Master (GM): i do believe that is what it is!   Grax Ironcloak: ok Maevis will take the light Perren had then.   Maevis Silverleaf: Kill it with fire :D   Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: So how much gold and silver and how long will it take to gather up in a bag? while someone watches the north passage for any signs of movement   Maevis Silverleaf: Maevis can watch the North with the light The others can pick up the coins   Grax Ironcloak: in regards to the spiders "Burn them all!" comes to mind from GoT   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, shadowfox picks up the coins and it comes to 44 sp and 100 gp   Dungeon Master (GM): i'd say about 10 minutes to gather the coins   Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: Shiela will put them in her haversack   Dungeon Master (GM): ok you see a narrow opening up ahead   Maevis Silverleaf The Half Elf Bard Says, "Grax You want to go ahead I'll follow?""   Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: if we are going towards the noises we heard earlier, take it slow   Grax Ironcloak The Shield Dwarf Fighter / Thief Says, "I'm a bit roughed up for that but i can."   Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: Shiela will heal grax.. hold one   Grax Ironcloak: ok   Sheila, praying to Ra, and laying a hand upon the injured Grax, cast a CURE SERIOUS WOUNDS Spell! Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: Sheila will take it.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok matching Large Shield: AC 2; Bulky; 10 lbs (value 2,450 gp) that ac was what perren was   Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: She will wear the plate and strap the shield on her back using her +1 large shield still   Dungeon Master (GM): hmm on sheila's sheet it shows a large +1 shield   Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: correct   Grax Ironcloak: ok so you want me to poke out of this opening or we going to try the other tunnel?   Dungeon Master (GM): is it going into a bag of holding then?   Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: her wooden scale will have to go into a bag of holding or something.. the shield she can carry on her back, strapped to her haversack, while she still carries the +1 shield   Balen The Human Bard Says, "Little opening? Level 2 Magic-User * Evocation Components V,S,M Casting Time 2  Segments Range 5ft/Level:  35 ft at level 7 Duration 2 Turns/Level:  14  Turns at level 7 Area of Effect Special Saving Throw Vs Spells Negates or Half Effects:  A web spell creates a many-layered mass of strong, sticky strands similar to spider webs, but far larger and tougher. These masses must be anchored to two or more points — floor and ceiling, opposite walls, etc. — diametrically opposed. The web spell covers a maximum area of  80  cubic ft, (eight 10-foot × 10-foot × 10-foot cubes), and the webs must be at least  10 ft thick, so a mass  40 ft high,  20 ft wide, and  10 ft deep may be cast. Creatures caught within webs, or simply touching them, become stuck amongst the gluey fibers. Creatures with less than 13 strength, (7 if the webs are half strength), must remain fast until freed by another or until the spell wears off. Missile fire is generally ineffective against creatures trapped in webs. For every full turn trapped there is a  5 % cumulative chance of suffocating to death. See spell description for more info.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, through his feet again it would go it would take up 16.75 squares of space, saying the passage is 20 feet high which square you want it centered on Xilicien?   Grax Ironcloak The Shield Dwarf Fighter / Thief Says, "Ey! watch it I aint a darned ninja dwarf up ere"   Maevis Silverleaf The Half Elf Bard Says, "Your doing a very good job as one Grax"   Xilicien: Seems like my max distance.   Grax Ironcloak: well great i can't go out there now damn   Dungeon Master (GM): roughtly that area probably 5 ft closer along the south at a diagonal really   Xilicien: With luck it will limit their actions as well.   SAVE VS. The dancing lights must stay within a 10-foot-radius area in relation to each other but otherwise move as you desire (no concentration required): forward or back, up or down, straight or turning corners, or the like. The lights can move up to 100 feet per round. A light winks out if the distance between you and it exceeds the spell’s range. Dancing lights can be made permanent with a permanency spell. Chance of Spell Failure (15%):  90 %

Such Attacks Use The Flat, Butt, Haft, Pommel, Or Otherwise Non-Lethal Parts Of The Weapons Concerned But Are Otherwise The Same As Other Attacks. Note That Unless Expressly Stated Otherwise, All Subduing Damage Is 50% Temporary, But 50% Of Such Damage Is Actually Damaging To The Creature Being Subdued If It Is Of Small Or Medium Size. This Means That If 40 Hit Points Of Subduing Damage Has Been Inflicted Upon An Opponent, The Creature Has Actually Suffered 10 Hit Points Of Real Damage. See Also P. 130 Of 2E Player's Handbook For Similar Information. Attacks Are Made A -4 'To Hit' And Against Large Creatures 75% Of Damage Is Temporary, 25% Actual.     Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: Anyway, I have to get going.. if you all keep playing let me know what happened in the blogs   Dungeon Master (GM): did you get my whisper Shadowfox?   Grax Ironcloak: gn shadowfox i gotta run as well   Dungeon Master (GM): good night you two   Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila: I didnt see it   Dungeon Master (GM): ok let me try again   (To Shadowfox: Coal & Sheila):  when you ran down you see more tasloi and a large gated area, then you run back towards the party   Dungeon Master (GM): now shadowfox?   Balen: If we are "just" trying to stop Coal from running, I could activate the cube of force to not allow living matter through and not move it (or even FORCE it to move in the direction we want).
