Addons Hidden From Players?

Hey! I want to add an addon from "Tales From the Yawning Portal" to my game, but I want to keep it a secret from my players. However, I would also really like to go-over and prepare the addon in our current game ahead of time. So, before I do so, I was wondering if Players know or are notified if an addon is added to or is a part of a game they are in? I'm just trying to be cautious...

Without knowing more specific details, it's hard to give a good answer, but there is an easy way to test: Create a brand new game and add the addon. Set up a dummy account . Invite it to be a player. Log in as the dummy account and do your darndest to find the addon. If you can't, odds are your players won't either, especially since they are not even expecting it.
Good idea. I just tried it. Turns out, Roll20 sends a big freaking green notification to the main page for the game that any player will see... Oh well I guess I'll just have to prep in another game and just try and transfer everything over :/

Does the green notification vanish if you clear the chat archive from the Campaign Settings page (not inside the game, but from the campaign Launch page)?

Note that the green notification clears for all players if you hit the x on it though to clear it on your screen. So still possible to surprise your players.
You're right! Just tested it, thanks for the info! I'll add it now so I'll have plenty of time to work on it. Thanks a bunch!
