Can a player post an initiative roll to the Tracker?

Hey all, We're new and just starting to figure some of the Roll20 stuff out and are not using character sheets etc yet, but would like to use some automated macros for things like initiative, the turn tracker etc. I've tried to add this macro (I'm a player, not DM) to my macro list and it seems to work fine in the chat window, but does NOT add my token/name into the Turn Tracker.  Can players add to the Turn Tracker, or perhaps it's just not formatted correctly? /me rolls a [[1d20 + 2 &{tracker}]] for initiative!

Do you have a character token, and is it selected when you make the roll?  The initiative tracker is tied to tokens, so without a token selected, your macro won't automatically add anything to the turn order tracker.
I *think* so...maybe I'll double check that was done correctly... As I keep hitting the macro, the number in the Turn Order never changes...

Using a player-controlled token and logged in as a player, your macro works for me.  Sorry for the dangling participle...
