We have come up with several important aspect of gaming we feel must be discussed to help provide a welcoming gaming experience for all attendants of a session.  This is not an all-inclusive list, but they are aspects of gaming that problems can often arise, and we wish to try and prevent our sessions of gaming from getting out of control.  It Important for players to read this list and act accordingly.  The failure to observe any of these rules may be grounds for suspension and or permanent ban from future sessions.  Ignorance of these rules is no excuse for rude behavior or being inconsiderate to others in the session.  We expect all participants to act responsibly and respectfully.   1.       Please be on time and stay for the duration of a session .  Before deciding to attend a session please be sure that you will be able to arrive on time and stay for the duration of the session.  If for any reason you are going to be late, please contact Mami RP Gaming and inform us that you will be late and the approximate time they can expect you to arrive.  If you will not be able to attend the scheduled session, we ask that as a courtesy you provide a notice of at least 24-48 hours.  This enables us to start the paperwork for any refund, inform the session’s ref and try and fill the vacant seat (if applicable). 2.       No anti-party characters .  Unless you are involved in a solo adventure, you can expect to have one or more other players participating in each session.  We ask that when you play that you play characters that work well with a group, or at least provides good reason for the other player characters to associate with your character.  Please do not make characters that are antagonistic to the other party members.  Party rivalry to an extent is welcomed but playing a character that never work with the group is not welcomed.  The other players often have a less enjoyable time or fail to have any enjoyment in games that include anti-party characters.  Loner characters often work best in solo games, and in games where all participants know ahead of time and agree to allow such a character in their group. 3.       Character Creation.   Prior to creating a character always be sure to read the session description, setting, and house rules. Check the rules on creating characters and submit your character to the specific ref for approval.  Characters must be approved 24 hours prior to session start.  Each ref decides on which characters they will accept if any.   If the ref does not allow a character, they will let you know what modifications if any would be necessary for approval.  Some adventures and campaigns may have a “Session Zero,” where the ref and the players create characters in a session together.  Other adventures and campaigns may only allow pre-generated characters. Before making a character check the description of the game for specifics or contact the ref.  Often there will be available Pre-generated characters, but this differ with each individual ref. 4.       Rules disputes .  Every ref has final say on how they will interpret and enforce the game rules of their sessions.  Unless “house rules” are posted players can expect that the game system being used will be played as written by the publisher.  Any house rule changes by a ref should be listed with the description of the game, within a thread, or in a separate house rules description when the session is announced.  During the game, if a player does not agree with a ref’s rule interpretation, feel free to voice your disagreement.  To keep the game going it is important to limit such discussions during actual play.  This may require the ref making a choice and continuing quickly rather than pausing the game.  The ref will have more time to debate outside of actual play.  We ask that you maintain a respectful debate both in and out of game sessions.  5.       Fighting/ Arguments .  Fighting of any kind is not permitted.  We do not condone nor tolerate threats from any of our representatives nor attendees.  Verbal fights will be handled by the ref, they will try and keep the peace at their table. We prefer to resolve disputes quickly so as not to effect game play.  Physical fights or threats will result in proper notification of security or law enforcement. 6.       No tolerance for Discrimination or harassment .  Please refer to our Participant Conduct form for details concerning this subject. 7.       Distractions .  It is important that when participating in a session player have their full attention focused on the game.  Please refrain from participation if you cannot provide your full attention for the duration of the session.  We understand that distractions outside of an individual’s control will occur.  We only ask that players minimize distractive activities and discussions during game play.  This includes speaking about subjects that do not concern the game in session.  Time flies quickly and our goal is to get the most we can from each session. 8.       Participants under the age of 18 .  Please be aware of if you are participating in a mature content 18+ game session or not.  Please conduct yourself appropriately for the session maturity level. 9.       Multiple Characters .  Most games do not allow a single player to play more than one character at a time.  Please consult with the ref of the specific session on their policy for multiple characters. 10.  In party fighting/ killing of other players characters (In game) .  Most of our games do not allow for players to intentionally harm or kill other members of their party.  There are certain games where this is allowed, and they should have such information provided in their game descriptions or house rules.  Copyrighted Material .  It is Mami RP Gaming policy that players do not ask our ref or company for copyrighted material.  In this case Published books and information.  We do not condone nor participate in illegal information sharing.  Please do not ask for free copyrighted books.  We have no authority to provide such.  We will always strive to teach players the rules for the game they are participating in (especially games that except new players).  Our refs will also assist players with character creation.  Game materials can be purchased both online and at your local gaming store.
