[Weekly Downtime Thread][Summer IV 1524 HC]

Please post any of your downtime activities below. You can find the full rules for downtime here . You can find last week's downtime thread here. Always remember to be specific about what downtime action you are taking! If you're leveling up type that in your post labeled as OOC! If you're looking into an item be specific about where that item is from, what mission, when you got it, who from, etc. If you tell me "I read that book I found" I am going to likely have no clue what you are talking about. Also a reminder players only get one main downtime action per week.
Prudence: will be dealing with the aftermath of the Battle of Traitor's Demise. She would travel and spend time in Bardenhold with the survivors from her domain, making sure the armours of the knights that died were returned to their families. She would encourage the replanting of the forest still, and look for a sustainable logging solution with the woodcutters. Zentha: Would honour her promise and stick around to train Ingram in the basics of magic but afterwards retire from the cohort on accounts that she doesn't feel it's her future to stay with the guild. (Retiring character) Portia: Will be taking the xp from retiring character Zentha and get herself acquainted with the cohort. She will make great use of the training grounds focusing on trying to hit enemies as they are running away. (Taking the Sentinel feat for lvl 4 Abilit Score Increase)
Zolis:  After a brush with death in the Tower of Evening, Zolis will write a will leaving his estate to his eldest son: Wajir Ulmokina. Wajir is a skilled merchant and perceptive navigator who, Zolis hopes, will enjoy the adventurers life as much has he has in these past few months. OOC: Wajir is a Human (Variant) Rogue (Inquisitive) Guild Merchant who may appear when Zolis passes.
Ingram : There are many things he wants questions he wants to answer through research, but in reflecting on the previous two missions, Ingram reminds himself of his lack of ability to help - especially in moments of combat or retreat. He finds Zentha Ianris and begins to learn the basics of magic - how to notice it, how to learn about it, and the rules of the land. Ingram can't help but wonder whether this type of magic was similar to the power of the druids.  (OOC: 1/3 weeks multiclassing Ingram to a Wizard)
Shango: If Shango feels like the wind is welcoming him to further heights, he will be doing strict meditation and training of his skills to level up. The time not spend training will be spent on drinking. Preferably in the Wild Wolf inn, Lythander seems like he needs some additional customers this month! Takumir: Will become a background adventurer. NPC Status attained. Eirena: In this mission, her eldritch powers came in handy. She is slowly starting to accustom a bit more to her cursed might granted by the Hexblade and will level up to a 2nd LvL Warlock. Robert: Will begin learning potioncraft from Presphine. It will certainly take him some time, but he will do his utmost best. The Armored Healer isn't one to forego ways of healing wounds. That being said, learning to craft the other potion's wouldn't hurt either, the most effective kind of healing is prevention, after all.
Savas:  Savas will practice his martial skills and meditate to Khirdai on what he has learned (level up to level 3) Roland:  Roland will work as an herbalist during the period in an effort to add coin to his paltry coffer. Jannis:  Jannis will spend another week in the library at the Arcanum, focusing on the history and politics sections regarding the Rohrmarch.  Using what he already knows about the civil war growing up under Konig Alaric in Kiedel, Jannis will try to find out more about the type of men and rulers Konig Alaric and Furst Oden are , as well as each of their claims to the throne.
Asher: Tries to find a wizard to teach him the Arcane. He starts by asking Orithar, but gets rebuffed. So, he looks for an NPC or a different PC.
Darvius will spend the week working on his studies of lower brecht.
Korak: He will research books on The Fey or Fhiele her true name, books of lore from Hjolvar/Tarlhass pertaining to its mountian area, and lastly any story books dealing with trees all in order to find the Location/Lore/Properties of Drachen Wood. Lolgon: He will head back to Wierech and attempt to learn Anuirean so he may more easily speak with some of the locals in the area.  Hedrin: The boy tries to rest but has nightmares every night of this evil creature that the book unleashed he eventually collapses in one of the halls and is unconscious for three days. His condition seems pretty severe after waking up as he now has a terrible fever, he mutters words about undead worms, evil books, and demons. After awhile the boy recovers due to Master Exaban treating him with healing salves and magical cooling to keep the boys heat down.
Hunter Layton  will return to the mainland for some time to collect names and potential targets. He is a hired killer after all. OOC: Lifestyle would be Modest while outside the Cohort Halls. Drake Darkwood  will attempt to find any details on who sent him to the shadow world originally in the library. OOC: I'm not certain if the Raven Queen is in this world, but her equivalent if possible. Otherwise, I'll live up to the gm. Rose  (name subject to change) will most likely level up with Silas's gained xp and join the Cohort officially. OOC: Still workilng on back story and what not, but figured I'd include her here.
Dragomire "Drago" The Black - Continues his training under Leana Stillborn - The Scarlet Devil. Hangs out with Korak in the library, spending his time researching dragons, focused on Silver. If they are immortal beings then they must have a long history. He is focusing his research on if they have ever taken an individual under their wing and if so that the relationships between mortals and Dragon have been and what the circumstances around this happening were. How others have earnt there favor, respect, tutorage, protection or became a champion. What steps could be taken to prove yourself worthy in her eyes? He will also ask all these questions to Leana Stillborn - The Scarlet Devil.  OOC: He a very good reputation in that area, 11 points of renown &  2 points of fame in Drachenward currently. He refused the title offered to him, out of "not wanting to cause a fuss with the village people who still didn't trust him." After Silver told everyone he carried an evil creature, he thought to give him a title would just make things worse in terms of his relationship with the village people.  Orithar Trisk: He will continue trying to unlock the secrets of the scroll found in Martha's house that contain information toward the soul. He will attempt to open up communication with the College in The Imperial City of Anuire and see if they are willing to aid with his understanding of the scroll. He would also want to check if the Cohort librarian if they are the spell Alarm on record to add to his spell book. Fenris Nathair: Has found a tutor by the name of one Countess Prudence Duskhart of Abbatour. He will be escorting the Countess in her travels with the grace and respect the Awnshegh  deserves.  OOC: Druid Multiclass 2/3 (RP in Guild-Hall Chat) Siegfried Morton: For the full three weeks,   he is going to try and find a contact, someone who's trade is the buying and selling of exotic animals. To achieve this, he will check the cohort records for any merchants who work in this trade and follow any successful contacts. If no luck, he will travel on ships working his way with "entertainment background" or Hard labor. Starting in  Aulbrunn  to as far as  Trie. He spends two days in each city before moving on, checking first at the Port with authorities for anyone carrying in unusual livestock, then merchant quarters then bars before finding a new ship and of course asking sailors who he travels with. OOC : I'm not sure which cities are kill on slight, we can assume he would advoid them.
Diesa Gemfire Location: The Halls of the Cohort Arcanum on the island of Fabrica Training: Following the victory at the Battle of Traitor's Demise, Diesa returns to the halls. She seems uncharacteristly agitated in the mess at meal times and evenings, glancing up whenever someone enters the room. Otherwise she is usually in either the library, or in one of the halls work rooms busying herself with arcane tasks and study. (Attaining level 5 and taking 1st level of Wizard. Week 1/2) Galena Aban âthu Location: Brechlen, Muden Work: After blowing through most of her reward money getting better armor and artisan tools Galena takes the short boat trip over to Muden and lands in the city of Brechlen. She spends a couple of days quickly trying to get the lay of the city (Urchin feature: City Secrets) and learn the territory and methods of the local gangs and criminal organisations (Thieves Cant). Then she spends her time in the most approiate taverns, gambling dens, houses of ill-repute etc 'cutting the purses' of a few deserving marks and try to build her funds back up (Sleight of Hand?) Other: While in the city she will also keep an eye and ear open for any bounty notices or rumours that might be lucrative and challenging enough for a party of cohort adventurers. Lambert Sulverin Location: Medoere Other: Lambert goes to Medoere to seek an audience with Ruornil's high priestess there, seeking to relate to her the visions he and his fellow monks experienced back in Starkhundt that caused him to take up the adventuring lifestyle, as well as what he has seen and learned of the Beholder since then. He seeks her wisdom as one more in tune with the divine mysteries of the Silver Prince on whether the portents might relate to the Beholder and its activities stirring discord across Cerilia.
Teresa Eirwen: Teresa will be staying at Bardenhold, giving Prudence a hand with things and helping the families of those that lost people in the battle, as well as continuing to teach Anuirean to Agatha. She will also look to acquire compensation for Darvius since she lost the axe he loaned her. (OOC:  Looking to pick up a good quality or better weapon for Darvius, spending Renown for it if necessary. Probably a quarterstaff since that seems to be his preference) Cordelia Woodwytch: Cordie takes a trip down to Binsada to seek out the bug people and attempt to learn their language. In exchange she'll try to teach them Sidhelien. (OOC: Will spend Renown in Binsada for aid in locating the bug people if needed. Cordie has Comprehend Languages as a ritual which might help communications)
Asher: Convinced Orithar to train him in wizardry. It hurts.
Mamm : Will continue to train during mornings ( LEVELING UP to 4 ), and helping out at the orphanage during her afternoons. Nim, interested in understanding Mamm's native language, as well as learn how to bake cakes, accompanies Mamm in the kitchen, where Mamm will try and teach her a bit of Rjuven as she works. She will also start looking for a puppy to buy/adopt on behalf of the orphanage, for the children to look after. Mamm thinks it's a good idea for the children to have a fun pet to brighten up their day, that might also teach them about responsibility for another living creature. Ant : Ant will continue his training, through rage and ale. ( LEVELING UP to 3 , Primal Path: Totem Warrior) He will also ask if Jasta wishes to join him in training again.
Agatha  will help her sister with the work around Bardenhold following the war and keep learning Anuirean from Teresa. When she is not busy with business and language learning she will write a letter to Dietric and tell him about the war. And of course she will spend some time with Emily. ( Learning a Language ) Nim will be hanging around Mamm, watching her train and help her at the orphanage. While they bake in the kitchen Nim will bug Mamm about her teaching Nim her native language. ( Learning a Language )
Jasta Stanley is training his butt of trying to get better with his skills so he is practicing day and night (leveling up) to hone is ability.
Downtime is officially closed.
Prudence Prudence spends time watching over her small domain. Things are much more peaceful these days, and it would seem without Lord Saxton causing trouble your people's loyalty has increased significantly. You begin replanting the woods. Zentha Zentha finishes looking training Ingram, and then takes her leave from the guild. She is dismissed honourably for her service. Portia Portia improves herself, and is ready to take on missions. (levels up). Zolis Zolis leaves his will to his next of kin. Ingram Zentha begins teaching Ingram the ways of the wizard. Shango Shango trains, and improves his mastery of the wind (do not forget about downtime expenses at the Wild Wolf. I would classify the inn as comfortable). During Shango's time there he hears a rumour that The Wolf has been spotted by a group a travelers. Perhaps he still lives!? Takumir OOC: Very well I will mark him as retired. Eirena Eirena slowly begins to learn more about her curse, and how to afflict others with it. Robert Presphine teaches Robert about potion craft, and something clicks in his head (natural 20 on your roll). Congrats! Don't forget that Presphine will need to be compensated for her time. She'll only charge Robert half (45gp). If you want you can spend 1 renown with The Cohort instead of paying this. Savas Savas progresses in his martial practices, and his meditations open up his mind to new possibilities (level up!). Roland Roland's work sadly does not go very well. He only earns 24bp (rolled a 3 on your herbalism check). Jannis Fürst Oden Rohr is the son of Wilhelm I, the previous König of the Rohrmarch. His uncle has claimed that title, but the Fürst has started a civil war with the help of his advisor Kurt Warkinde to reclaim it. Currently he controls the northern provinces of the Rohrmarch and plans to go war with Kiergard once he finishes reclaiming his rightful territory. Oden is only 12 years old, so the books don't have much more information on him. It hasn't had time to reach The Cohort. It would seem the young is more likely under the control of his peers than acting independently. König Alaric I, younger brother of Wilhelm I, has ruled the southern provinces of the Rohrmarch since Wilhelm was killed by The Boar six years ago. Wilhelm's son Oden Rohr rules the northern provinces. Rumor has it that Alaric, a ranger of some renown doesn't want to be king, but fears that Kurt Warkinde secretly holds sway over the young Prince Oden. Some also say Alaric does not want his forest domain to be devastated by the war Warkinde wishes to wage on Kiergard. Asher Orithar begins training Asher in the ways of wizardry (week 1/3). OOC: In the future if you could please edit your post instead of making a new one. Darvius Darvius gets the hang of the language during this time. He seems to be a natural at it, though his Brecht accent is obviously off, and sometimes he's a little difficult for natives to understand. Korak There's not any information on a Fhiele, but The Fae is a well known entity. She keeps The Gorgon at bay. Her presence and barriers are the only things preventing him from taking over the north eastern provinces. The Fae is known for being a chaotic being, but good in nature. However there are stories of her doing truly vile things to protect her realm, and keep The Gorgon contained. She's not against sacrificing a town in cold blood for the greater good of the realm. Lolgon Lolgon is still trying to learn the language. He learns a few basic words and phrases, but that's about it. Hedrin Hedrin spends time resting, and recovering under Master Exaban's wise gaze. Hunter Layton Hunter spends some time collecting the names of targets. OOC: You didn't tell me where you were going. Saying "the mainland" is like saying "heading back to Asia." Be aware that doing assassination work (even just collecting names) during your downtime CAN result in PC imprisonment, punishment, or death depending on the rolls. Drake Darkwood Drake's research doesn't pull in any helpful information. There are a large number of being who have influence in the Shadow World. It could have been anything from some sort of Shadow World monstrosity to Azrai himself. OOC: There is no Raven Queen in this setting. The closest thing would be The Raven who is also a ruler of a domain. Rose Rose achieves level 2. OOC: Usually when you bring in a new character after losing one the new one shows up with their levels automatically. So Rose would start at level 2 essentially. Drago Leana doesn't have much time to look after Drago. She's a council member in The Cohort. She spares what time she can for training, but that is about all. However during his research of The Silver Dragon Drago discovers that she's been protecting the people of Urkenhame for many generations. At one point in the past she fought against the humans who sought to build settlements in the lands of the drachen. She even fought side by side with her brother, The Red Dragon for a time. However eventually rjurik people who were willing to show respect towards the lands showed up. They pledged themselves to her as a goddess, and she's been guiding them ever since. This fact enraged Aragnak who has since made it his quest to free his sister from their "slavery." The Silver Dragon has many followers, but no equals. She does however produce dragon knights from time to time with the rjurik mammoth warriors. These silver hadrachen are renowned for being powerful warriors, and paladins. There hasn't been a new one born recently. Orithar If Orithar wants the help of The Royal College of Sorcery he will need to go to the capital himself. Depending on the contents of the scroll he could get in quite a bit of trouble doing so (the scroll contains some form of necromancy). The Cohort does indeed have an alarm spell. The scroll from Martha's home is still completely beyond him. OOC: Generally speaking searching for a spell is considered a research action. Though you are free to copy down as many spells as you have access to during downtime (such as from other players). Though of course you still need the gold to do so. Fenris Fenris continues to study underneath Countess Prudence Duskhart, and learning the ways of nature. Siegfried Siegfried finds the name of a Brecht merchant who travels the coast buying, and selling animals. Tracking her down is a little difficult however as she tends to travel the seas (would be another downtime action to attempt to do so). She makes port in Daugren as that is her home, but she is rarely even there. Her name is Katherine Windcatcher. The books don't detail exactly what types of animals she carries. Diesa Diesa continues to study magic under Presphine, but the woman seems very out of sorts. She often times look on the verge of tears, but when asked about it she says there is nothing wrong. Galena The gangs and the local guilds here are much one and the same. Messing with one will get you in trouble with the other. As such dealings in Müden are quite dangerous. Galena also learns that refcently the Zweilund islands have forbidden assault on the royal fleet of Müden. This action has helped prevent war with the pirate nation. Unfortunately it sounds like war with the Swordhawk is around the corner. She also meets a man by the name of Hals Arm. He claims to have used an anchor to pull the entire Kraken up to one of his ships before ripping off its tentacle with his bare hands. It doesn't sound very believable, but some other patrons say that it fed the province of Allesrecht for seven months. Eventually Galena learns that the story perhaps has some truth to it, but that Hals went missing whilst saving a ship from a storm some years ago. The man waved lights, torches, and other radiant objects for seven hours so that the ship would not hit the shoreline. Yet when dawn broke Hals was never seen from again. Most people think he drowned in the riptide, or that The Kraken took its vengeance. Galena doesn't manage to find the man who called himself Hals again. During her time there she does however manage to steal 96ss and 72bp. OOC: As mentioned above, doing criminal activity during downtime can result in negative effects. Lambert The priestess warns Lambert that he is sticking his nose into business that will get him killed, and says no more on the matter. Her expression is more of one with worry than anything else. Teresa Teresa spends time looking over the people, and helping them get back to their normal lives. OOC: Marked off 5 renown for the masterwork weapon considering the circumstances. I gave you one back for helping out the civilians. Cordelia The bug people are gone. Following a "great prophet" across the desert to the Tarvan Waste. They haven't been seen since then. She does discover that they are called the Tosculi. Mamm Mamm spends her time training. During her rest she takes care of the children, and adopts a stray mutt for the children to look after. (level up!) Ant Ant spends some time training, and improving his abilities with Jasta. (level up!) Agatha Agatha finally manages to learn the language, and talk to Emily. However her time with the girl is a difficult one. Her mother died during the battle, and she is now orphaned. Agatha finds this drawing in her room. Nim Nim is still trying to get the hang of the language. She's learn a few basic words, and phrases. That's about it. Jasta Jasta works his butt off to improve his skills (level up).
