My partner and I are experienced 30-something RPG players, having played regularly since D&D 3rd edition. We've never touched the 40k RPGs though we have a passing understanding of the lore from our experience with 40k TT. We love the 40k world and would like to branch out into playing the RPG As brand new players, we're looking for an experienced DM to craft an exciting story for us! We will need help creating appropriate characters. As it's just the two of us playing (plus you), we should play two characters each. We've done this before in D&D; hopefully, this translates smoothly into 40k? We're particularly keen to try Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, or Only War. If you're especially keen on any other setting, talk us into it! We love to roleplay and adore settings that are heavy on intrigue, politics, secrets, etc. We like combat, too, especially when it comes time to loot! We don't expect our game to be PG-13 and can appreciate adult content when introduced to the story appropriately. From a DM, we're looking for somebody fun, with a good sense of humor, creative, and experience with the game setting and rules! Also, someone reliable - as a DM myself, I know there is nothing worse than canceling a session at the last minute because somebody didn't show. Unless there is an actual emergency, we should all show up. In terms of pay, we're willing to be flexible. I know how much hard work goes into each session, but I've never played with a paid DM before (all of my campaigns have been free), and I don't know the going rate. We're thinking $40/session? But please, if that's not reasonable, let's discuss it! As a software developer, I would be willing to work on something for you in lieu of payment, like scripts, macros, or tools that would benefit our game and any other games you host! We're based in the UK and flexible with dates. We could do any day after 6pm GMT (ending at midnight GMT latest) except Tuesday. On the weekends, any time is fine. The ideal cadence is a weekly session that lasts around 4 hours. We would consider running a longer (6-8 hours) session on the weekend every two weeks instead if that suits better.
