[Weekly Downtime Thread][Winter I 1524 HC]

Please post any of your downtime activities below. You can find the full rules for downtime here . You can find last week's downtime thread here. Always remember to be specific about what downtime action you are taking! If you're leveling up type that in your post labeled as OOC! If you're looking into an item be specific about where that item is from, what mission, when you got it, who from, etc. If you tell me "I read that book I found" I am going to likely have no clue what you are talking about. If you are learning a language, or tool make sure to write down how many weeks you have been practicing! This lowers the DC, and gives advantage depending on the number of weeks. Also a reminder players only get one main downtime action per week.

Diesa Gemfire Location: Daugren, Grevesmühl - Comfortable Lifestyle Diesa spends a couple of days at the halls following her last expedition packing to leave for winter. She checks in on Teresa and writes a letter, leaving instructions that it be given to or delivered to Medi Eirwen and payment to do so; Medi I hope this letter reaches you soon and you are well. I hope Madeleine is also well and the both of you are prospering. Your leaving the cohort took me by surprise and it was a little while before I could gather my thoughts. Your last words to me were "Im sorry" and I hope from the bedrock that they wont truly be the last words of yours I hear but if they are I want you to know; you have nothing to be sorry for. When I came to the cohort I came to die. I just hoped to find some vengeance on the world for my brother before that end came. But instead I found you. When you told me about Teresa, how you wanted to find her and save her - after what happened to my brother how could I have resisted such a quest. I started to feel like I had a purpose, that I could be useful and do something properly good by helping you. And in helping you I got to see more of you. I saw you master fears, I saw you fight with the best of them, I saw you smile and laugh. I got to see your determination, your courage, your compassion, your generosity, your beauty and brilliance and a hundred other things. That all wasn't merely the shadow of your sister. You might not know it yet, not feel it, but that's the real Medi. That's the woman I fell for. Even if that isn't mean to be, you are still the woman who made me want to be alive again. And I think thats who you are going to find when you finally find yourself. Until then I'll keep an eye on Teresa for you and no matter what there'll always be a place for you and Madeleine. Yours, Rhonika She then travels to Daugren to spend her downtime at home with her family, and also spends freely with the money she's made so that her parents and siblings can have a very comfortable winter (Laying down 100 krakens - 50 gp) Language: While in the city Diesa takes some time out to try and attend the Herzog's court to to keep up with her homeland's affairs (Diesa has folk hero background, 2 fame and 7 renown in Grevesmühl so hopefully behind able to stand in the hall shouldn't be too much of an ask) but has some trouble following the nobles talk when they speak in High Brecht and so tries to pick it up herself. (Learning High Brecht, 1/4 downtimes spent on learning) Galena Abanâthu Location: Port Helen, Siren's Realm - Comfortable Lifestyle Training: Galena once again returns to Port Helen and to Jerusha Fjoldan, the Siren. Spending another few weeks learning how to manipulate magic and finally is able to reliably cast spells and infuse power into her voice and will. She also keeps an eye out for any hag agents showing up in the Siren's court, though she expects them to be laying low and mostly ends up comparing Jerusha with Chessa's different approaches to rulership. When her training is complete she asks the Siren if she could have a feather from her wings to commemorate and use as the focus for her spell casting. (Training for Bard Level 1: 3/3 downtimes spent) Aubrae Trevelyan Location: Ber-Dairas, Sultanate of Binsada - Modest Lifestyle Language: Aubrae remains in Binsada after her last mission, curious about the organised worship of Laerme/Leira there after being used to seeing only small shrines within a few of Avanalae's temples instead. She often visits the temple and library, hoping to find someone that can speak Anuirean or Brecht who'd be willing to teach her Basarji. (Learning Basarji, 1/4 downtimes spent)

Savas Al-Hadar Savas will spend his time in the library doing research on Moradin's Lost Temple... Once he has an idea for the general location of where it might be, he will research that area as to the history of the Temple, and any recent events or expeditions that may have involved it. Jannis The Red Will spend his time in practice and study (level up). Roland Having heard rumors of "Mammoth Warriors" hunting him, Roland will spend time in the library researching who they are, any weaknesses they may have, and how others in the past have survived them.
Sithric: Sithric will continue training his marksmen eye and level up to become a LvL 3 Fighter, given enough experience. Shango: Shango will become a bit anxious once again, as the trial is now looming like a sign of certain doom over his head. He won't be at the tavern as much and will read up on previous trials where someone else had done something similar in severity as he had and hope for the best. ( OOC: Research on trials that have happened before his time. ) Robert: Rob will begin to learn Midgardian under Salazar's teachings. ( Week 1 ) He will also have the Splint Armor he bought from Korak refit, if possible. Eirena: In her spare time after Daikhar Zhigun, Eirena wrote a letter to Savas. What seemed like a small thing to do, turned out to be a task of great struggle, as she could not let herself write an imperfectly written letter to Savas. She spent a whole week rephrasing and rewriting the letter, until the following passage was finalised: "My dear Savas, I hope you are faring well. It was quite an eventful week for me this time. The mission I headed to was dealing with frogs in Daikhar Zhigun. I thought that it would be a battle of attrition, killing toadlings until we were tired, I must admit however that things did not turn out as expected. We were moving towards the Frogemoth's most recent location, in hopes of happening upon some of its toadly minions. We didn't find those at first, but arrived at a strange inn, with lots of intriguing creatures waiting outside of it. It turned out to be housing hot springs. The party decided that it would be a great idea to rest in these, so... We split up into two different area's by gender and were told to wait in a waiting room. I stumbled upon Phage there and tried to speak with her, but was stopped by a very frosty lady, that seemed to insist that I didn't know Phage. I went along with the act, but I believe out friend is being controlled by this lady. In the hot springs, I happened upon very weird creatures. There was a lady with the head of a Panther, a female swobold, a turtle that looks like a tropical island... I even had a short conversation with a strange little creature calling itself the oracle eel. It said something about my 'true name', but I couldn't make any sense of it. It was quite the adorable creature though. When we left the hotsprings, we left it slightly changed, gifted even. One of those gifts was a giant frog named Primefanie. She is able to commune with other frogs, or atleast make them calm down and follow her. A feature we used to achieve quite a feat! We roundes up several hundreds of the Frogemoth's toadly minions and accidently brought them to the fey hot springs. Funnily enough, the inn keeper made quick process of these and the toadlings were no more. We were even invited to come again! I hope that I can take you to the hotsprings sometime, it was quite a nice, if also quite strange place! We presented our case with the king, who had a zone of truth put on us. He also had us examined, believing us to be mad. Even after both conformations, he insisted on proof that Fenris' frog was capable of calming toads. It was hard to contain my laughter, the situation was simply to funny to behold! But after our last piece of truth, he believed us and even handed us medals of honor. I apparently am now an honorary Dwerren and one of Moradin's chosen! Whatever that may mean. All in all, it was quite exciting. I just wished that you could've been there as well. -Eirena" She will slip the letter into Savas' boarding room in the Cohort during the night of finishing this letter and quickly get out of sight, lest Savas catch her in her blushing state.

Cedrych tries to learn how to use Woodworker's Tools. Attempt 1. Salazar returns to the Cohort and for a few days revels in the relative comfort of the Isle of Fabrica. After a few days of comfortable relaxing, he spends time at the Library poring over tomes of magic and lore. The evenings he spends with Roberto, trying to elucidate him on the finer points of Midguardian. OOC: Salazar levels up.
Medi Eirwen: Medi requests a leave of duty from the Kallanon in order to do some soul searching. She feels empty after having spent so long trying to be someone else, and guilty at how willing she was to sacrifice others to get what she wanted. Had that come from her trying to be her sister, or was that the real Medi coming through? Either way she's uncomfortable with the thoughts, and will focus on taking care of Maddie and checking in on Teresa for any updates until she feels able to return to duty. (OOC: Character on pause for a little while) Cordie: Cordie spends her time trying to teach Korak how to think like a fey. Whether this is as necessary for learning the language as she says, it's necessary for her own amusement. When she isn't corrupting Korak, she'll follow Presephine around, partly to see if she learns anything fun about her and partly to see if Mynnir's fun breath helps her not look so sad and serious all the time. (OOC: Teaching Korak Sylvan and interacting with Presephine)

Prudence Duskhart: Prudence will spend most of her time with her sister, admiring the change that went down within her; happy that she will no longer be instantly ridiculed or thrown stones at anymore. In her spare time she uses various herbs and flowers even druidcraft to treat the Vrock's feathers and nullify their terrible odour before she attempts to make a cloak out of them. Hoping to make two. (OOC: Crafting; she has no proficiency so would find someone at the cohort to help her) (Minor Action: Teaching Agatha Sylvan) Portia Folkor: Will head to the training grounds and train herself even harder than usual, having felt useless on her last mission she betters herself in the only way she knows how. Physical training. She will ask Ant if he wants to accompany her from time to time, and offering to try and brew some alcohol together in their spare time. (OOC: Level up to Champion fighter 5) Berry Brambles: Will try to find some Carpentry work on the Island of Fabrica, not really for the money. He does it to help them and put a smile on their faces.

Ezren Location: Edge of the Sielwode - Modest Lifestyle During his time back at the Cohort, Ezren begins to learn the names and stories of those who fell during the battle with Solaria. He visits Ingram's grave and thanks him for pulling him to safety during the encounter. Ezren thinks he's being noble by honouring the memory of the fallen, but in reality he was tormenting himself out of guilt. Ezren travels back to the Sielwode and rather than his usual disciplined training, he just rages. One day, during a particularly violent session, a village elder and faith leader approached Ezren and chatted calmly with the dragonborn. Elder: "Child, who do you think you are?" Ezren: "I'm not sure, Elder, but it's clear that I need to become much stronger. I need to become justice incarnate - a bane against evil. I have to be, otherwise..." Elder thinks quietly Ezren: "Is that not correct? Is that not what Her Resplendence teaches - that evil has no place to run from the light?" Elder: "It's true - we are all called to stand against the darkness, but there are many ways to do so other than the spear. Though that's not why I asked the question. Rather, I asked because however you choose to move forward will influence others. Perhaps a better question is what do you hope others to be?" Ezren's anger calms slightly and he uses the rest of his time to mediate on the elder's question and to focus what he's feeling into a purpose. OOC: Since I couldn't play in a session due to work, so I can't level up Ezren. Instead, he's just training and feeling bad/sad.

Agatha Agatha is going to send a letter to Dietric to check up on him. She is too scared to go there in case he is dead again, due to the bond between her and her patron breaking. She is also very nervous to show herself to Emily so she decides to stay at the Cohort and help her sister with the cloak she is making. Emily will however also get a letter where Agatha wishes her the best, tells her a child friendly version of her adventures and how much she misses her. While she is sitting around watching Prudence work on her cloak she'll demand Prudence teaches her Sylvan.
