[Weekly Downtime Thread][Winter III 1524 HC]

Please post any of your downtime activities below. You can find the full rules for downtime here . You can find last week's downtime thread here. Always remember to be specific about what downtime action you are taking! If you're leveling up type that in your post labeled as OOC! If you're looking into an item be specific about where that item is from, what mission, when you got it, who from, etc. If you tell me "I read that book I found" I am going to likely have no clue what you are talking about. If you are learning a language, or tool make sure to write down how many weeks you have been practicing! This lowers the DC, and gives advantage depending on the number of weeks. Also a reminder players only get one main downtime action per week.

Dragomir "Drago" The Black Drago will be keeping his promise to  Presphine and the next day will arrive at her shop at 6am in the morning half asleep and yawning. For the remaining time he has, he will be cleaning, fetching basic supplies, cleaning vials and ensuring Prephine gets the free time she needs or just some company. He will not press her on what is wrong, nor treat her with pitty but will go out of his way to try and make her smile when possible and make sure to find out and bring her favorite food. The mains topic of conversations will include Dragons! Prephine can tell he is in complete awe by them.  After keeping Prephine company during the day, he is studying Leana teachings in the evening leaving him with very little free time for anything else. When she is around he shows her Eloéle's Dice and asks her if she know of a way of recharging the magic back into it, as if it is used it will disappear, he does have gold he could spend on such things. Drago asks if she made a deal with a creature for power when younger like him, what in Cerilia could Leana Stillborne be bound to? Did she used to have a patron and now bound to the Fate Weaver as well or something different?  Drago asks if Leana would be willing to make a minor bond with him. So he can rely on her, so one day he can control the flames like she does. OOC: level up to 6. Want to change to fiend as a reflection of being a student of Leana as there is no other way to get access to fire magic. Minor: light talking Orithar Trisk Orithar will go about Cohort and enquire if any of the mages have the spells Blink, Counterspell and  Thunderous Charge  that he can copy into his spellbook. If no cohort members have them, he will ask permission to research in the library for these spells. Asking whoever is in charge of the library if they would be willing to help him find them, will be offering financial compensation for their time if they can willing to help him locate the information he requires faster. He will start with spell Blink. Looking for references made to teleportation and disappearing and reappearing within the Transmutation sections of the library. R eferences  towards the individual being able to pop or items that keep disappearing and reappearing over a short time opposed to just flat out disappearing without returning. Avoiding references towards invisibility and illusion magic. For counterspell he will checking references towards stopping spell completion, interrupting the collection of Mebhaighl focus, breaking connections or freezing the mebhaighl. As an abjuration wizard, he knows more about this school that the others and how the magic would function when researching. Lastly  Thunderous Charge a simple 1st circle spell that is known to imbolden a soldier in battle.  OOC: Want to add Blink(3rd), CounterSpell (3rd)  and  Thunderous Charge(1st) to spellbook for upcoming missions. If looking for 3 spells is too much for one downtime, would be willing to hire/paid gold to enlist the services of other cohort members. Fenris Learning Sylvan from Prudence. 1st week. Nubby After hearing about scary ghost pirates he will just be looking for information on normal Rum drinking, sail raiding, plank walking pirates and where they recruit for crews, make port. He now carries cheese on him at all times.
Eirena Lightshadow Major: Will be doing the research regarding the Ice Maidens this turn of downtime, probably taking the result of last week. Robert Bossouri Major: Rob will try to research on the topic of other potions he can craft, other than healing potions and the necessary herbs he'd have to gather during his missions. Shango Bayu Major: Shango will continue to try to research extraction methods for Mandrake roots that do not involve them screaming your brains out. Or protection against their horrible screams. Also, he will try to find out how he distinguishes them from other plants. Minor:  If he has the time, he will travel to Hjolvar for a bit after his research, going to the big cities, to look for a smith there that could improve his shortsword. As he isn't able to speak Rjuven yet, he will probably have to bring a translator with him. ( Modest Lifestyle ) Sithric Grimhildsson Major:  You don't manage to get through the Urchin life without a certain degree of stubbornness. Sithric is going to continue to try to create a lantern holder to attach to his belt, for hands free lantern light, using leather materials bought or found, up to 30 gp again. ( OOC: Looking around the Cohort Area to purchase material for leatherwoking. If there is none, he would look for these materials in Kopingdal as well. He will use these materials to try and craft a lanternholder that he can attach to his belt. He'd be willing to spend at most 30 gp for this endeavor and cancel the endeavor if he can't fit it into his budget.  )

Diesa Gemfire Location: Daugren, Grevesmühl - Comfortable Lifestyle Diesa continues to spend most of her time with her family in the city she grew up in Research: Now that she can understand and speak both the common and noble tongues, Diesa uses some of her time in the city of Daugren to try and learn about the state of the country and its political situation, where power lies, what issues it faces, what threats there are and what open bounties and marques, if any, there are that the realm would be grateful to see dealt with. She can continue to attend the Herzog's court and also ask her old contacts in the trade caravans to find these things out. Other: Diesa asks if the Dwerren Foundry her father works at can reforge her old memorial greathammer into a shield and pays the cost to do so. Galena Abanâthu Location: Halls of the Cohort Arcanum, Isle of Fabrica Galena spends as much time as she can with Amara, the Lamia's representative before she has to return home, making sure to show her the sights of the island, introduce her to some interesting adventurers and making good on the offer to try out crossbows at the ranges. If Amara takes to them Galena will buy her one of her own, plus a bolt case and two sets of bolts. Lanaguage: Once Amara has departed Galena will return to Mamm's kitchen for the rest of her time off but gets distracted from cooking and asks if Mamm will help her with learning Rjuven since she never got very far with it back in Port Helen. (Learning Rjuven, 2/4 downtimes spent) Aubrae Trevelyan Location: Ber Dairas, Sultanate of Binsada - Modest Lifestyle Aubrae once again returns to the city of Ber Dairas and the temple of Leira. While outwardly unconcerned by the potential threat of Queen Amrose she does seem to find herself returning to the Cats Cradle every couple of days where she atleast learns the name of some of the local drinks and gets to watch a few pit fights. Language: While staying in Ber dairas Aubrae again tries to pick up the language of the khinasi, determined to be able speak more than a few tourist phrases. (Learning Basarji, 2/4 downtimes spent)
Jannis the Red Jannis will take a trip to Keidel, maintaining a low profile, to go visit his family.  He will freely share any tales of his adventures if they are interested, but will avoid any discussions about coming home or what his future plans are.  After a few days, he will leave some gold on the table and leave early in the morning before the rest of the house wakes up. Savas Al-Hadar Savas spends his time practicing the Rjuven he has learned, trying to read Rjuven books in the library and writing. Roland Roland will spend time considering the predicament he is in and trying to figure out some way to escape what appears to be an inevitable fate.

Prudence Duskhart Location: Bardenhold - Roesone The twins will travel back to the castle they call home, in an effort to get away from the pressure of adventuring, and all that has happened to them in the past couple of weeks. She'll accompany her sister everywhere, keeping a closer eye on her than usual, though she still leaves her privacy. They'll go shopping for clothes for Agatha now that she's much smaller and Prudence will help her finding where she can get her armour refitted. If Agatha still feels up to teaching she'll try to learn Low Brecht from her ( Major Action   Learning Language: Low Brecht - Week 2 ) Portia Folkor Location: Cohort Halls, Island of Fabrica Feeling frustrated with herself will really try to wrap her head around Karamhul so she can speak it. She'll also look out for Ant as she knows he's been on a stressful mission lately and she just wants to make sure he's okay. Otherwise she goes about her routine of training and preparing for a mission that catches her eye. ( Major Action Learning Language: Karamhul - Week 3 ) Berry Brambles Location: Cohort Halls, Island of Fabrica Will sit down with anyone who needs and asks him and provides emotional support, offers an ear to whoever needs and of course always offers a hug.

Agatha Agatha struggles a lot with all the changes she just went though and relys a lot on her sister. Prudence brings her to Bardenhold where she meets Emily again. Then her sister brings her to buy some new clothes, more fitting to her smaller size, along with getting her armour refitted. She continues teaching Prudence Low Brecht, but it hurts a little, as she remembers how she herself learned it in the first place. (Major actions done in RP session: Talked to Leana about the Fate Weaver and met Emily for the first time since she turned human... and 11.) Nim She cries even more during her rest as Pim Pim was old and it took a lot on him, living with the cat. She invites everyone who might want to participate in the little funeral for her squirrel. She practices painting, trying to draw a portrait of her old friend. (Learning Painter's Supplies - Week 1 (Roll from last week since she leveled up instead?))
Ant Ant will enjoy Portia's company greatly, and sensing her being frustrated, asks her what's wrong, with Portia just telling him not to worry about it. Ant will brew some whisky to try and cheer her up. ( Crafting Whiskey For Gift. [May take a bit more than a month to ferment and age.] ) Mamm Bealdaartsdotter Mamm will help Nim organise a funeral for her pet squirrel. She will focus on quality time with Nim, hanging out with her in the tavern, as well as watch her paint among other things. She will also continue working on her Shortbow project. ( Crafting Masterwork Shortbow [Downtime week 3/5] ) Skag Polavich Skag will continue with his training. Otherwise keeping quiet, same as normal, hoping no one knows his birthday. (Learning: Longbow Proficiency Week 3) [accidentally put 'Week 1' two weeks in a row, sorry.]
Twili Twili will most likely be leveling up from 2 to 3. If she does, she will join the College of Twilight, a re-flavored version of College of Whispers. Bellasaar Bella will try to learn of potential ways to remove permanent death saves in the library.

Cordie: Cordie, deciding that she really likes it in the Margreve, spends her downtime in Levoca living a Modest lifestyle and attempts to learn Midgardian, both from the villagers and Salazar. She figures that knowing the people's language would make it considerably easier to operate there. In her free time she'd do a little wandering in the forest near the village, keeping an eye out for interesting creatures. ( Major: Learning Midgardian) Saorise: After her harrowing first mission and the thought of being marked for death by a powerful undead mummy queen, Saorise is even more on edge than usual. Her magic flares up defensively at loud noises or sudden movements, accidentally blinding someone at least a couple of times. This constant flexing of her innate magic works it like a muscle, strengthening it. ( Major:  Levelling up, should have enough exp to do so) Medi:  Medi, rather than celebrate her birthday, opts to treat Maddie instead, gifting her a pretty bracelet and a number of sweet pastries and cakes. At some point she likely takes notice of Berry and figures it can't hurt to try talking through her issues with the friendly stranger.

Korak (Major Action: Special)  He will head back to Drachenward and ask Silver once again about teaching him to use the leylines:     How goes it Larmedylth? I hope the winter is treating your people well and the retrieval of your bones went alright... His face sinks for a moment looking ashamed of having to ask this again. I have come in hope that you would start to teach me about layline magic so I can harness higher power in areas locked down by foul creatures and aloof leaders. It seems I have made quite a few powerful enemies with ill intent for the world and I worry that they will come while we are somewhere where my magic can not protect the others in my group with their restrictions giving them advantage. My greatest fear is having someone perish protecting me from cultists or hag minions and not being able to bring them back.      I only wish to do good in this world Larmedylth and I hope one day to be a part of the fire pushing back the darkness.  (Minor Action) Korak will buy a mythril shield to lighten his load if just a little.  (Major Action if other fails: Crafting) Worried how his night blind companions fumble trying to juggle torch shield and sword he looks to make a lantern that can be worn at the hip and be used hands free without burning the user.  Hedrin (Major Action: Research) The boy will look in the library for books on the mandrake root looking in books of herbal medicine and potion recipes for mention of the root and try to find the unique features of the root and precautions that should be taken when trying to pick one. He will also go to Presphine's potion shop and ask her if she knows anything about the root or if she knows any other potion makers in the cohort who may also know about the root.

Salazar levels up to Bard 4. He stays in Levoca, living a modest lifestyle amongst the Villagers and teaching Cordie Midgardian. Cedrych will also level up (if he has enough XP, needs 716). Otherwise, he'll make another attempt to learn woodcarving tools (attempt 2).

Brognir spends a few days with some sheep and takes a wool pelt with him when he leaves. Then he goes back to Torova Temylatin to spend some time with the Dwerren there. He tries to understand their Karamhul and their customs as he spends his time in the mines toughing himself up. (( Brognir going to level up to Barbarian 3))

Lindal will seek out someone who can teach him how to read properly, either Low Brecht or Sidhelien, which ever is easiest to find a teacher. Shlar will look more into Parsee, the Green Eyed Monster.  He is going to focus on her life before her crimes.  He wants to find out as much as he can about what her life was, or would be expected to have been.  What was her family like?  What sort of thing was popular, would be the sort of thing a Sidhelien female at that time might like or value.  As well as looking for any stories, hints, or even rumours about what kind of person Parsee was.  If he can, and it's safe, he will even attempt to travel to her home area to look around and see what sort of thing might please such a being.  If this would need a mission then he will forget that, and will instead rely on what he can find in books and from oral sources.
Drago Drago keeps his promise to Presphine, and studies underneath Leana. [You can change to fiend and level up.] Orithar [You CANNOT hire people for extra downtime actions. That defeats the entire purpose of limited downtime actions.] Orithar doesn't manage to find any spells during his research. Fenris Fenris begins trying to learn Sylvan, but as of yet has only learned some basic 'hellos' and 'goodbyes.' Nubby Nubby begins carrying cheese with him. Eirena Aside from the ways already mentioned, there are stories of ice maidens being bargained with. However none of the stories go into any details on what was traded. They just mention they were bargained with in exchange for releasing one of their enthralled. Robert Robert does some research, but doesn't find any helpful information. Shango Shango doesn't discover any methods like that which exist. At least not ones that are recorded. He discovers that such a thing isn't really possible. At least not for the smiths in Hjolvar. Sithric Sithric loses half the materials again (15gp) trying to make his new invention, but doesn't manage to succeed. Diesa Diesa discovers that the situation in Daugren is uncomfortable at best. There are currently multiple powers vying to push back against each other. The Herzog could easily lose his head if he isn't careful. Galena Galena spends time with Amara who lets her know she will be staying in The Cohort for awhile longer. Amara takes to practicing with the interesting tool that Galena shows her. Unfortunately the woman's efforts with Mamm end up being much less productive, and she'll need more time to learn Rjuven. Aubrae Aubrae wil still need more time to master Basarji. Jannis Jannis spins tales with his family members, and leaves them some coin so that they may live their lives in greater peace. Savas Savas practices his Rjuven in the library. He reads old Rjurik folk tales. Roland Roland isn't sure what to do about his current situation, but is risking being removed from The Cohort if he doesn't take some missions in the future. Prudence Prudence continues trying to learn Low Brecht from Agatha, but Agatha's new shorter attention span and childish demeanor has made that much more difficult. Portia Portia continues trying to learn Karamhul, but it's proving to be something she has a really difficult time wrapping her head around. She's learning the basics well, but she keeps getting the sentence structure mixed up, and incorrect. Berry Berry offers emotional support, and hugs for those who need it. He surprisingly gets more than a few takers. Agatha [Handled during light RP] Nim Nim begins practicing how to paint, but the progress is slow with the jumble of voices in her head. The other girls all immediately get jealous, and throw outrageous fits that Anne is getting special attention. It makes it hard to learn anything. Ant Ant crafts some fine whisky, though it will take some time to ferment and age. Mamm Mamm continues her work on the masterwork shortbow. Nearing completion. Skag Skag is having allot of trouble learning how to use a longbow, and will still need more time. Something just isn't clicking. Twili Twili levels up. Bellasaar Bellasaar looks around, but cannot find any tomes relating to curing damage done to the soul. There are stories of gods being able to fix things, but that was known to him before he started. Cordie Cordie begins learning Midgardian, but will need more time to master the language. Saorise Saorise levels up. Medi Medi takes some downtime, but Maddie isn't particularly receptive to the sweets. She asks for black coffee instead. Korak Larmedylth begins to teach Korak about layline magic, but her lessons go completely over his head. She tells him that he needs more time before being ready for such things. Hedrin Hedrin learns that the Mandrake bears a lavender coloured flower with green leaves. He learns that proper Mandrakes have yellow stamens, and False Mandrakes have blue ones. The False Mandrakes are narcotic and hallucinogenic flowers, but otherwise do not have any of the healing or beneficial effects of proper mandrakes. Proper Mandrakes will have humanoid shapes to their roots when plucked from the ground. Salazar Salazar levels up. Cedrych Cedrych levels up. Darvius Darvius begins learning Midgardian, but will need more time to master it. Thorg Thorg sharpens his axes, and prepares them for the next mission. Brognir Brognir improves his abilities. Lindal Lindal starts learning how to read Sidhelien from some other members of The Cohort. Shlar Shlar doesn't even manage to find the smallest lead on The Green Eyed Monster.
